0.45mm Or 0.55mm Guage Aluminium Roof Pros And Cons by bugativeron: 2:00pm On Oct 18, 2020
Dear all,
I want to roof my house, however prices of roofing sheets have really gone up so high.
I am forced to buy longspan aluminium sheet. Even at that the cost is still huge. Now I am considering 0.45mm guage because of paucity of fund gauge over 0.55mm which is my preference.

Please what is the implication of using 0.45mm. I am making purchases tomorrow monday.
Please urgent response will be appreciated.

It can leak with time. In a place where there is heavy wind load and no wind breaker it can deform. You can use it if it not high rise building

if your building is a bungalow, the real 0.45mm guage is ok for u, if it's not a bungalow use the 0.55mm guage..a good roofer will avoid any leakage when installing the roof .it's cool u are roofing during this raining period, which will help identify any leakage on any spot after roofing.

Mine is a 3bedroom bungalow, thinking of using 0.45mm because of fund.
