Social media has really revolutionized the way we used to do business. Currently, there are about 4 billion active social media users. That’s why different businesses and companies are hugely investing in social media marketing, whether big or small. From LinkedIn Sales and LinkedIn marketing to Facebook advertising and Instagram influencers and ads, many businesses are using social media to grow the brand and online presence.

Even though social media marketing allows building and boosting your brand’s presence, you also have to make sure that the strategy that you use for your social media marketing is on point. That brings us to the importance of calibrating and measuring your campaigns.

Measuring your campaigns will help find out the linkedin marketing strategy that works for your business model. It will also help you prepare actionable items and help you calculate the risks. Every social media platform is different and unique and will have some specific metrics. For instance, LinkedIn, or rather, LinkedIn marketing is very different from an Instagram advertisement.

There is a need to identify key performance indicators (KPI) for your marketing strategy as a business.

Social Media Marketing KPIs

Social media works almost the same. What I mean is the basic KPIs are nearly the same.It is essential that you know the KPIs you need to monitor to make realistic and measurable goals. These are the most common KPIs. Please note that they vary depending on the platform you are using or monitoring in that case.

Clicks

Clicks to a post are a reflective of the compelling images and titles you have posted to engage your prospects, visitors, and audience in general. Let say your post has generated more clicks but few shares and likes. This might mean that you have your audience's attention, but the content you have posted has not been valuable for your audience to relate and engage.

Likes

Post reactions and likes create more engagement. Likes mean that your audience naturally gravitates towards the posts you have shared. In particular social media channels, more likes will boost your visibility and eventually increase your following.

Comments

When we mention the strongest KPIs in social media, we can’t fail to talk about comments. Comments mean one thing: the content that you have shared is effective. As a marketer, one of your aims is to spark some significant and meaningful conversations. It doesn’t matter whether the comment is negative or positive; a comment shows your post’s effectiveness.

Shares

Shares, just like likes, boost engagements. When someone has shared your post, it means that they are recommending whatever goods or services you are offering. Shares are a good indicator of quality social media posts or content.
