In honesty, if you are not a master of music theory, you have not earned the right to CRITIQUE Fela’s Music. That’s not to say you don’t have the right to like or dislike or even hate his music, but to say whether it’s a good piece of art or not, you need to be able to analyze his works theoretically.

Give fela 10 mins to sing a song, he will use the first 5 mins for rythymless beats, 2 mins for lyrics wey no get meaning and the last 3 mins for another round of rhythmeless beats.

Music sometimes is not about lyrics, it Is the beat, the rhythm which is why fela was able to get the international audience.. but I will take fela.. even though some will say his words are on repeat but some of felas song makes sense which I have some tracks of him.

Lagbaja na entertainer but how many of his songs can people relate with compare to fela.
