BREAKING: Herdsmen strike in Idoma community, kill police officer, okada rider in Ado

Suspected herdsmen have killed a police officer and a commercial motorcyclist in close to Odokpo village in Ado LGA of Benue State.

This was confirmed by the LG boss, Hon. James Oche.

Oche, who was heartbroken over the development, called on residents of the area to remain calm and volunteer useful information that will help lead to arrest of the daredevils.

He said, “Today my heart is broken, broken in a hardly retrievable manner. Despite the efforts, peaceable and otherwise we made to check security concerns within our domain, today a police officer and a commercial cyclist were gruesomely murdered by suspected herdsmen/terrorists close to Idokpo market.


“Pained as we are, we summoned an emergency security meeting of the Council and thereafter instructed the security agencies to trail the assailants so as to bring them to justice.

“I reiterate our commitment to ensuring the security of the lives and properties of our people as we have always done.

“I urge our people to, in remaining calm volunteer useful information that will help us clamp the last of these daredevils.”

Who will arrest them talkless of prosecuting them? May the soul of the departed rest in peace! Amen! Poor Nigerian citizens dying in the hands of alleged herdsmen that carry only stick and some times machetes according to their Big Baba.
