I also want to know if i can use NARIC in place of IELTS while registering.

I will really appreciate your feedback.

Google social work England

Fill the form and pay £495.

Send an email to inform them you will he using NARIC. They do accept but you must inform them.

Application is getting tough now... They have introduced a very long form to be filled by your Uni which could delay. Your references must also respond within a stipulated time else, owo to jona.

Be prepared. Have your transcript ready. Get available funds and prepare the minds of your references..

Please house, after registering with any of the other regulatory body in UK aside SWE, how long will it take to processing application if submitted to SWE for Registration with them? And what documents are required?

You can try Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Just Google there social work registration organisation.

You said MSW (Professional Masters). Do you know it differs from M.Sc Social Work (academics).

You are good to go if it's MSW

Fellow SW, you can as well do same with Canada Social Work.

I feel we should create a thread on that but before doing that, let me tel you the pros and cons

Financial Implication - Canada is much cheaper. It cost roughly 350USD while UK assessment is about 590.

Documents - Canada will assess your first degree (any course) and your MSW. They require both transcripts. UK will assess only your MSW

Proficiency- Canada does not requires IELTS or any English proficiency. UK requires IELTS or ENNIC.

Documents- Canada require few documents but there is a document your HOD must sign and sent by the department. ( Courier fee). UK documents is bulky and the HOD must sign.

Job.. Both countries require SW. However, you still need to register with each province in Canada before you can work in such province. UK final assessment covers all their counties.

Duration- Canada is about 6-8weeks. UK is about same though.

Ask me any question.

MSW is a Professional Masters. In some institutions your first degree determine your specialisation

Social Welfare
Community Development
Medical/Health Social Work
Industrial Social Work
Etc

Apply for Master of Social Work in any Uni in those countries. Most of them focus on Social Welfare and Health Social Work. You won't fit into Health because you don't have science background so, Social Welfare is your best shot but as a trained social worker, you will be trained to work in the hospital during your field work.

Whichever you specialise, you are still a social worker.

Good evening everyone. Please a friend of mine needs an advice. He has an admission for MBA in Canada and an admission for Social Work in the UK. He tried getting an admission to Social Work in Canada but couldn’t so he eventually opted for an MBA. He is in his late thirties. He prefers Canada as a destination because the immigration pathway to PR is shorter and more stable. However, he prefers Masters in Social Work because it has better prospects for career and jobs and he is also better suited for it. His only concern about the UK is the immigration pathway otherwise what he really wants is Social Work. And his major concern with the MBA is getting a good job after graduating since the MBA is not from one of the top business schools in Canada. So guys, what will you advice? MBA in a low rated university in Canada or MSW in UK? If he chooses UK, will he be able to get a job as a social worker in Canada after graduating in UK?

Social Work is the best short. He can become a registered Social worker in the UK upon graduation and move to Canada. Very easy path. Just gotta pay the price.

I doubt if your BSc will fly for both countries because you won't have met the number of hours for field work. Your best short is, get your MSW.

I submitted application for both countries

Canada denied me registration because my MSW courses did not align with the course unit required but met all other requirements. 200K laidat.

You will have the same issue when it comes to field experience hrs. Don't waste your money but you can give a short if you have enough resources.

Couldn't meet up the 7band IELTS test required for the UK. Sat for it thrice and 6.5 was by band. Just moved on. My £495 doubled due to naira free fall. I recouped my 200K loss to Canada.

That's my story.
