If for a place to look nice, it must be a capital, then something is definitely wrong in the country,

I'm America, Canada and Australia, the country's capital cities aren't the commercial capitals. In America's case, I doubt Washington DC ranks amongst the top 10 cities.

The same goes with state capitals. Albany, the capital of New York state is nothing compared to New York city. Im sure you've never heard of Albany.

California's capital Sacramento, is a midget compared to Los Angeles. I doubt Sacramento comes top 10 in California's biggest cities.

This just shows Nigeria's propensity for corruption, rent seeking and government spending in picking winners rather than the private sector.

Very true bro. Government majorly drives development in Nigeria. That is not the case in places like US. Nigerias case dey tire person. I no know where the problem from come.

Nigeria can return to regions and those cities can thrive once again.

We do not even need regions for them to thrive again. If all levels of government take their roles seriously, they will thrive once more.

Enugu IS cosmopolitan
Lagos was the former national capital hence it's advantage
I believe Lagos continuous growth and development is largely due to it being a port-city and link to most West African countries.

Never sighted anyone in all the pictures wearing "isiagu" attires or something similar, does it mean "isiagu" cloth is a recent attire/design among the Igbos? Similarly, in many pictures Europeans took of Hausa/Fulani women in northern Nigeria during pre-colonial and colonial era they (Hausa Fulani women) weren't putting on "hijabs". This also goes to show that their widespread wearing of "hijab" today was more of post-colonial adoption likely due to the influence of modern mass media which propagated the fashion sense of Muslim women in the Arab world.

Please which Facebook page or group shared these pictures? I want to go there and download these pictures. Pictures shared in Nairaland are normally of low quality and look as if compressed.

Dont mind these people. Enugu is an overhyped town. Aside the government house precinct which the poster above is posting from different angles, 90% of the town is a mess. Ph, Kano, Kaduna were capitals and contemporaries of Enugu in the 50s and 60s and 70s, but today they have all left Enugu far behind as a mere civil servants state with nothing to offer except poor infrastructures, low GDP, poverty inflicted population, etc. No major industrial presence, no major commercial presence, just poor civil servants roaming all over the place.
