Hello experts in the house.

Please my UPS doesn't retain charges any more and just goes off few seconds after power outage. Prior to this it used to carry my desktop up to 8 mins. Had it for almost 3 years now.

I went to purchase a new battery and they advised I buy 12volts/9aH as against the 12volts/7aH my UPS has.

The guy at the store insist it doesn't pose any danger since the voltage is the same and that I will even get extra battery time. Is this advisable?

It doesn't pose any danger as the bigger the battery capacity i.e ah, the longer the backup. But expect longer charging time

Oh. OK then I think I should go for it. Thanks for the clarification

I doubt you will get the 12v/9ah around but you can get the 12v/7.5ah easier mostly for the rechargeable fan which work well for ups.
