pplications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the 2010/2011 Certificate Programme of the Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (ISLT), University of Port Harcourt. This programme is for one year and at the end of which the candidate is awarded a University of Port Harcourt Certificate in any of the options listed below:

Herbarium Techniques and Management
Microbial Culture Management
Material Science and Electrical Instrumentation
Safety and Environmental Techniques
General Techniques and Instrumentation
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must possess the following qualifications:

5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, 2 relevant science subjects and any other subject, in not more than two sittings (GCE, SSCE or WASCE)
On successful completion of the certificate programme with an average score of 60% (B) at the end of the programme together with 5 credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, would guarantee admission into year one of the Bachelor of Science Laboratory Degree Programme of the Institute.
