So. I just finished reading another of the Open Heaven's Daily Devotional

This topic in particular touched me, because it is not taken seriously in churches today! And even among Christians.

We see a woman in revealing dress and assume she is fornicating.

We see someone on dreads and think they are criminals.

But John 7 vs 24 says something different

[24] Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

KJV

Does This Mean You Should Condone And Ignore Things?!

Definitely not! The bible doesn't say everything goes but it says we should never condemn people.

As Christians, we are to act like Christ and learn to not make judgements from the surface.

May God help us all, this is something i struggle with as well.

You have to judge! However, you have to do it according to the stipulations of the one who rules over you, and not the way that men do it. How else will you know the wolves, liars and deceivers from those who do in fact hear and speak the truth of God? undecided

Of course, judging folks by appearance is foolish! Instead, Jesus Christ commanded us to judge the tree by its fruits, and no, the fruit Jesus Christ spoke of had nothing to do with a list some call the "fruits of the Spirit." For instance, the fruits of false prophets are lies and deceit, while one who is a follower of Jesus Christ speaks the truth of God.
Speaking of the so-called "fruits of the Spirit", Jesus Christ never said that the fruits He spoke of referred to emotional and behavioural patterns which, if you think about it, can accurately be recognized only by the one experiencing them, and not some third party.

Yes, even the verse says judge correctly. Discernment is a better way to think about this kind of judgement.
