It's no more news that Owolewa has been declared winner as a congressman to represent Washington DC under Democratic Party, the first time a Nigerian would achieve that feat in the most powerful country on earth, USA .

In my view, this is a good reason we must jointly end godfatherism ahead of 2023. Nigeria ought to have been a replica of America in development, political freedom and exposure ,etc, given the human, material and natural resources God has blessed us with. A country where a son or daughter of nobody could have become somebody without knowing anybody.

The earlier we send all these thieves in our political space packing....those who have refused to leave government since 1960...the better. To those supporting godfatherism, the practise which has caused the youths of today to become perpetually hopeful in mirage of being a leader of tomorrow, use your head. They're using your head to remain relevant.

The greedy politicians would use you as thugs to snatch ballot boxes , just to have their way on top of peanuts. Many of you have even died in the process, but they don't care. When they're giving their children's hands out in marriage, celebrating birthdays or sharing their stolen money, they won't remember inviting you. You'd not even see them again until the next election approaches. They win election with your votes but when they want to decamp, they don't consult same you, back home. The arrangement ends there in Abuja and you only hear the news on the radio or watch it on the telly. Think about it.

In a country like Nigeria, Owolewa wouldn't have won an ordinary wards election. The less said, the better...Albert Heinstein

I sure the reason you're surprise is because the Nigerian system has grab a hold of your thinking processes.

Sorry to bust your bubble that US is not like Nigeria

Well written. 2023 presents an opportunity for us to take charge of our country. I hope we won't miss it.

until we all begin thinking un-nigerian way, we will remain on same spot if development because fresh ideas capable of moving the country forward won't be allowed to be infused to the system by those godfathers who always prevail on whoever they want , instead of merit or whom the people want
