UNLAWFUL ARREST AND DETENTION OF STANLEY DIVINE THE RESOLUTION OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS(NANS)ABIA STATE AXIS Reporter: CHIJIOKE EMMANUEL The Deputy Chairman, NANS Abia state Axis Condemn in totality the arrest of one of us; STANLEY DIVINE IHEANYICHUKWU, a student of Industrial Technology Education department, College of Education, Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia state. With the Registration number: MOUAU/INTED/18/102582. Our attention was drawn to a suit filed against the mentioned person In the Magistrate court of Lagos state, In the Lagos magisterial district, Holden at Yaba, with charge number- Y/A/ES/7/2020 and we wish to state as follows. I want to notify the general public that, 1. Divine Stanley Iheanyichukwu is a responsible student with unquestionable character, dedicated to duty and law abiding. 2. Divine Stanley Iheanyichukwu has never been invloved in any violent exercise within and outside the school. 3. The charges raised against Divine Stanley Iheanyichukwu defies the principle of good conscience as he has never exhibited any attribute of violence or arson. 4. As law abiding citizens and responsible Nigerian students, we stand boldly to say that Divine Stanley Iheanyichukwu is innocent and that there is a misconception about his personality that calls for urgent reconsideration. I plead with Barr. Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) The Attorney General Of Lagos State, as our father and the face of justice in Lagos State, we appeal that you ensure that the basic principle of law which states that "It is better for a guilty party to be acquitted than for an innocent to be convicted" and grant immediate exclusion of our member from the case.
