Cyberterror:Excuse you, are u sure u're typing from planet earth? How on earth is this devilish policy helping the local industry that's not existing? Wake up from ur slumber man, nobody is a fool here, the agenda is to favour the economy of the north and cripple the economy of the south. Since the border closure, how many tons of grains and other agric products is coming from the south here? The little farmers that still have the courage to farm are being disturbed by the action of the Fulani herdsmen. Is everything not coming from the north? How many tons of onions were produced here? Currently 3 small bulbs of onions go for 200 naira, who's benefiting from that? Southern borders were closed, there's this big international market @ Ilella in Sokoto state, a town bordering Nigeria and Niger republic, people come from other African countries to do business in the market, it was not closed, because the market makes huge revenue for the state on daily basis. Who's now fooling who? 6 Likes 1 Share |

Aflix: "Opening the borders will also play into Bokoharam’s hands" is not the same as the bold in your response above. And you’d be the dumb one if you tried to downplay the importance of Nigeria’s porous borders to Bokoharam/ISAWP. |
Re: South West Leaders Call On Buhari To Open Nigeria’s Land Borders by Aflix(m): 11:42am On Nov 10, 2020 |
Litmus:Lol........ Which border did the terrorists that kidnapped that American citizen passed for safe haven We shouldn't deceive ourselves. We all know that the government will stop Boko haram when they are ready to. Opening or closing the border doesn't affect the fight currently. 2 Likes |
Re: South West Leaders Call On Buhari To Open Nigeria’s Land Borders by Litmus: 12:06pm On Nov 10, 2020 |
Aflix: You appear to defeat your purpose. For exactly, Terrorists and American forces passed through our none-existent borders. You’re making the case for a more tightly controlled border and not the relaxation of one. Our borders need closing. |
Re: South West Leaders Call On Buhari To Open Nigeria’s Land Borders by Aflix(m): 12:58pm On Nov 10, 2020 |
Litmus:I'm saying that the government is unnecessarily making people suffer by closing the border. The aims of the closure is not being achieved as terrorists and rice smugglers still find their ways through the border(with some risks hence the high price of foreign rice). So, it would be better for the government to just officially open the borders for goods. |

SpatialKing: Looks like whipping up ethnic sentiment didn't allow you to read and comprehend. And where did you see anybody mock Igbo for government shutting down borders because of COVID? What they are saying is if air borders can be shut and reopened because of Covid, then the land borders should have been opened too. Nobody is talking about importation of rice and frozen foods here which I guess you are erroneously referring to. 1 Like |

gaetano: You people with defeatist mentality are just pathetic. Borders were closed worldwide because of COVID, Air borders has been opened in Nigeria and they are telling govt. to do same for land borders because it's affecting economic situation of the border communities, the next thing is that govt. shut down borders because of you. So, Ghana that has opened it's air borders and still not opened the land also shut down their borders because of you and your tribe? |

An agreement should be made by the South West leaders and their brothers in Benin republic to bring in only food related items, all food importers should also be registered and be made to pay state tax and high security should be placed at the borders to cut importation of fake products. |

This is also a challenge to Yorubas and South West leaders to invest in agriculture, farming estates should be set up and Amotekun should act as security.... let's stop developing housing estates that people can't even afford. 1 Like |
