Bad Breath Wants to kill me! Help! by BadBreathBoy: 6:25pm On Nov 11, 2020 |
I had to post this here because of the traffic pls bear with me. This guy called bad breath have haunted me all the way from primary school down to secondary and even to my university level. I am still a young 19 years old guy at the peak of youthfulness but this guy is just ruining everything for me. My self-esteem, public speaking skills, social life, confidence, in fact, everything has been smashed with a sledgehammer right in my face. I have turned into an introvert because of this bad sickness but will cover it up with "Money on my mind" shït. I have tried everything possible guys. Below are kinds of stuff that I have tried and it is not working. 1. Visiting a dentist. 6 months ago, I took all the money I had to go over to the dentist in search of a solution. Had to wait for hours before getting attended to. When the doctor came in, she first started with some words of encouragement. Telling me I might not have bad breath and all, people might be thinking they have it but don't blah blah blah. (So me that have bad breath I don't know what I am saying right?) After much talk, she recommended flossing and cleaning. That exercise where water passing through a tiny hole at high speeds is used to remove plaque from in between your teeth. I had to shell out a whopping 4k for that plus the extra card of 500. All the money I saved was gone just like that. It didn't work!!! Bad breath still held me down. 2. Brushing twice a day. I did this for 1 week straight up without any improvement relative to the hard work put in. So I became less consistent with this. Toothpaste I have tried includes, Oral B, MyMy, Maclean, Close up, name it. Didn't work. 3. Garlic and ginger. Some persons here on Nairaland recommend that ginger and garlic can be used to drive off bad breath. The prescription was to swallow it whole before going to bed at night then brush in the morning to remove the after-effects. I tried this for one week. Didn't work. 4. Mouthwash: I have wasted more than 4k in buying mouthwash but these things are just 2 hours wonder from the moment of application. I get fresh breath for the time being but after like 3 to 4 hours, the bad breath keeps on coming back. Still didn't work. 5. Hydrogen peroxide: Someone also recommended I use this to chase bad breath. It also works for sometime after which bad breath comes back. I even tried to dilute less than normal for maximum effects but the only thing I got was an irritating burn on my tongue. I am so not using this guy again! 6. Walnut: Some said walnut could be my Savior so I had to buy them in large quantity to chew but it didn't have long-term effects. So I ditched it. I don't have money to waste as I am still a student. 7. Chewing a combination of bitter leaf, scent leaf, and guava leaves: Out of intuition, I decided to try this combination. My common sense inferred that since it was bitter, it should probably have some effects on the bacteria in my mouth. But alas! Bad breath wasn't even impressed one bit. I even had to stuff them in my pocket and chew on them while going to class. This was a big flop. Didn't work at all. 8. Agnes Nwamma Herbal powder: I don't know what to say about this one, because it was even better that I just didn't brush for that day. Very useless in fighting off bad breath. The funny thing that leaves my jaw-dropping is that my dad doesn't even brush, he uses a chewing stick but still has a very fresh breath than I that used mouthwash, baking powder, toothpaste and still chew the chewing stick to top that. 9. Chewing gum like Clorets, Methos: I have to be frank about these gums, they kind of aggravates the bad breath. They are simply applying salt to injury so I just stopped using them altogether. Edit 10. Staying hydrated: I read somewhere that staying hydrated will help. Well, it did reduce the bad smell by a tiny fraction, nothing much. I have drank that eva water of 150cl at a stretch, and still yet nothing. I also do take pure water with me everywhere I go. But I noticed something, I always get fresh breath after eating Apples. It kinda of secretes enough saikva in my mouth and gives nlme fresh breath for a couple minutes. I also noticed that when I have eat foods that helps me secrete sailva, bad breath is kinda reduced. I have asked around for any drug that can help induce sailva production but nothing yet. Nobody seems to care to listen or know of any drug that does that in all pharmacy I went to. Pls Nairalanders, help me out here. There have been lots of people who found a solution to their problem on here, so I doubt mine will be different. Pls, I need something else to try that will not dig a hole in my pocket as I am still trying to stand on my feet. I need a permanent solution not 3 hours wonder. Lalasticlala pls push to the front page so I can get a large set of solutions to fight this off. I don't want to resume school like this. I am tired, I am weak, disheveled, exhausted, dejected, depressed, anguished, melancholic, in fact, I have tayad like this. My confidence and esteem have been crushed by bad breath. Shyness, inability to have streamlined chat with people, playing deaf and dumb, using hand signals whilst communicating, smiling like a peacock when my opinion is required, staying away from girls, snubbing people, rejecting positions that have me talk to a crowd has taken over!! Pls, abeg, mbok, biko, I need a solution. A permanent one at that. 5 Likes 1 Share |

hmm l don't have a permanent solution but l will suggest you try this; the style in which you brush your teeth that is placing more attention to your tongue as that is where the problem lies, that doesn't mean you should abandon your teeth no.. l have always had this inkling that your tongue is clean if after washing it's pink in colour and not whitish.op use a mirror too when brushing to check out your tongue while brushing to know if it's pinkish in colour when you are done. don't forget your teeth... |

This guy you try o Just brush Immediately when you wake up and when you are about to sleep, that is brush twice a day. The mistake a lot of people make when brushing is they spit out the foamed paste five or six times when brushing, don't do that! Continue with the foamed paste all through while brushing and spit it out only when you done brushing. Also drink a lot of water after each meal so as not to have those residue in your mouth. Do this for one month and you will see the difference |

What indeed causes stank breath is the tongue - Basically, Bacteria on the tongue. Quick fact: The mouth is the most dirtiest part of the human body, even the female p ussy is twice neater than the mouth because, it clenses itself. Q - How do I detect the bacteria embedded on my tongue? A - Grab a mirra (The British pronounces it as mirra but it's mirror), Look closely to your tongue, if you find any whitish looking sustance suspended on the top layer of your tongue - that is clear sign of the bacteria on the tongue and exesses of it indicates over grown bacteria. Q - Is it normal? A - slightly whitish is normal due to the varieties of eatable and chewable that goes into the mouth hence, the reason we have to brush the mouth daily. Q - why do I have stank breath even though I brush daily? A- You don't brush right. Most people just brush the teeth and ignore the tongue or mildly just brush it. No! It needs intense scrapping, brushing, scratching of that top whitish layer. Make it a habit until you notice that top layer turns pink, only then, you will rid yourself of stank breath. I 'd recommend you use sodium chloride (salt) to vigorously scrap that whitish layer. 1 Like |

you could be suffering from multiple cavity which stores food residue when eating(this is a major cause of bad breath that no amount of brushing can solve except when thoroughly cleaned and filled)... if this is the case try to pick(floss) your teeth more often(immediately after eating and before brushing), do not just brush the back of your tongue(be careful not to bruise your tongue and gag excessively) also brush the roof of your mouth, under the tongue and gums. |

Erojepromise:Op should spend more time brushing. Brushing is an art, when I brush just my teeth, slime comes out of my mouth, plenty of those, then when am on my tongue too. I always remove a large quantity of those. It irritated me to see slime in a female's mouth while they talk I can excuse guys sha. I use up to 15, 20 minutes while brushing my mouth. Modified: over the years, I've also observed that the slime can never be completely eradicated but reduced to the barest minimum. I once spent a whopping 45min on my mouth, and it kept removing and removing chunks of those. |
Re: Bad Breath Wants to kill me! Help! by BadBreathBoy: 7:18pm On Nov 11, 2020 |
SarutobiEky: Thanks for that sir. But I have also for once tried this method. It actually do keep it fresh from 8 to around 10 and it all comes back. I have brushed my tongue so well that I couldn't feel those slimy stuff. But it kinda accumulates as the hour goes by and we are back to square one. By the dentist taught me how to brush, a style I have long incorporated. Not quite effective tho. |

Tonsil stones ( small spores-like white-yellowish-milky stuff) are lodged somewhere in your throat. when brushing, try scrubbing your tongue with your brush too.. 1 Like |

OP, no amount of brushing can cure that. It's internal.. It's in the blood.. Use bicham ampiclox with a good blood tonic for a month. Then u can now embark on any of those remedies u tried earlier.. Trust me, bad breathe would leave u for good... |

Bad breathe is caused when you don't brush your tongue. No matter how you brush your teeth, if you don't brush your tongue, you will still have bad breathe. Food particles gather in the tongue. When I see some people having crystal clean, white teeth but still having bad breathe when they talk to you, I know such persons don't brush their tongues. Mouth odour is mostly caused by your tongue. So if you brush your teeth and leave your tongue unbrushed, you will have bad breathe. Some persons don't brush their tongues because when they do, they feel like throwing up. That's normal. I started brushing my tongue at the age of 14 and at first, I always feel like throwing up. But with time, I got used to always brushing my tongue. I no longer feel like throwing up cuz it became part of me. So, when brushing, don't leave your tongue cuz that's what caused 80% of the bad breathe. |
