Lagos will save between 400-500 Billion in 10 Years If they remove Alpha Beta and allow Lagos Internal Revenue Service(LIRS) collect state taxes. Currently, Alpha Beta collects 10% commission on internal generated revenue according to former Managing Director Alpha Beta,Dapo Apara.

Alpha Beta Consulting received the no bid contract to exclusively collect Lagos state taxes in 2002, when Bola Ahmed Tinubu was Governor of Lagos state.

Lagos state needs to empower LIRS, and recruit tax consultants working for KPMG,Deloitte,PWC,EY into the state civil service. And stop paying the 10% commission, that according to the court case filed before the Lagos State High Court,Dapo Apara, is going to Bola Ahmed Tinubu through his fronts that help him hide ownership of Alpha Beta Consulting.

It is believed the IGR generated by Lagos is in the range of 40-50 billion monthly. Lagos state has refused all Freedom of Information requests relating to Alpha Beta Consulting contracts, citing it is a federal law and not applicable to states.

Are federal laws really not applicable to States or are corrupt state governors using that weird argument as an excuse to hide obvious cases of large scale looting as is the case here?

Not sure of the amount, but taxes are compulsory. Alpha Beta was created in the year 2002, the same year they received the no bid contract from Bola Tinubu.

All the taxes paid by staff of all the banks, oil companies, construction companies, insurance companies, Alpha Beta will get a 10% cut, for simply having them pay it through their platform and collect a 10% commission.

It's obvious that it applies to all states since it is a law made by the national Assembly. How Successive governors of Lagos State will then insist on disobeying duly enacted laws of the land just because they are desperate to cover the tracks of their extremely corrupt godfather is simply nonplussing! These are obviously impeachable offences! Good thing is that the days of one queer looking Tinubu as the El Terrible of Lagos politics are numbered. Hopefully in the coming months, as his corrupt dynasty unravels, anti corruption agencies should be ready to keenly spread their dragnet to all the three musketeers that have over the years helped him during their tenures as governors, to organise this "once In a lifetime looting" of Lagos State.. They all deserve to be banned permanently from playing any role in Nigerias poitics going forward! Audacious thieves, All of them!

That is the problem with the country, some people can decide which laws they will decide to obey without any consequence and they expect the masses to be law abiding.

There are internal controls you can put in place to prevent that. You know nothing about accounting, they want it the current way, so they can loot.
