250,000 jobs from one highly automated refinery. Reminds me of nig breweries 40billion plant which ended up employing 400 people. Most in filling , packing, loading.

Major reason for the high rate of employment in the country.

Too much of automation.

Shovel and trowel job. Stop using Dangote brand to monopolize Nigerians manufacturing sector. Let it be a competition. Encourage other brands.

Let him start by paying his due taxes.
The revenue alone from that will fund infrastructure projects which will create jobs which will....etc etc.
The man is a leech on Nigeria. And uses his potential for "job creation" as his mantra for the gullible.
A country of 220M ppl reliant on the monopoly of 1 man business. Make it make sense.

Killed by who? Why didn't you people resurrect it, or stopped " them" from killing it, since you're so smart. Which kind mumu be this - blaming others all the time for your woes.

It is so sad. If only Dangote refinery can create about 250k jobs directly and indirectly, imagine if we have 3, 6 or 10 of such!!

These people and their sponsored media sll seem to think Nigerians are all just one big bunch on morons and dullards who know nothing about how things work undecided undecided

I'm tired of the way these people lie just to sooth desperate job seekers..

How would just one company claim it would create 250,000 jobs because of one refinery??

Even Saudi Aramco, as big as she is, doesn't have up to 100k employees

The staff strength of Google and Apple combined is just over 250,000 so it even more less likely for that figure to be accurate...

It's just sad to see that even our so called media would fall for these kinds of report...

After impoverishing the Nigerian populace with high fuel price (and claim it's because of high crude oil prices when prices of fuel has been hovering around $42 per barrel for over 6 months, this govt has increased price from 125 naira to 170 naira in the same breath)
You will now hire 50 Indians at top level and 200 Nigerians at bottom level and call it 250,000.
Nonsense and create jobs.

What you produce locally is not affected by international price but factors of production.
Not all of us are illiterates

Well that's the curse of human civilization.
In early 19th century England, there were the Luddites who basically said exactly what you are saying now.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luddite

Because of automation of the textile industry, they lost their jobs. So they kukuma destroyed the machines. But the machines were repaired and people lost jobs or had to invent new jobs for themselves.

This matter is never ending till the end of this world.

I think they met directly n indirectly. At best the refinery should employ between 10 to 20 thousand workers.

cool
oil is irrelevant
its going the same way of coal
elon musk is pumping in billions of dollars into Tesla e-world
same as
Lexus green vehicles
Volkswagen
ford
Chevy

China
America
Denmark
Sweden

truly Nigeria is a 4th world country..
oil will still be relevant for sometimes cos heavy machineries and industries still runs on oil. Either for power, lubrication , hydraulics or manufacturing. Electric car can't usurp all that in another generation. I see both industry complementing each other

Petrol price = Oil price and African leaders don't determine the price, but market forces do. African (Nigeria) leaders are big time criminal who benefit whether price fall or rise
Yes you got it, the market forces do but these leaders will make sure, it don't go through the right process because of their own share.
