GENITAL WARTS SYMPTOMS & TREATMENT
Human papilloma virus (HPV)

FAST FACTS

Genital warts are caused by a virus that can be passed on through close genital contact, including sex without a condom.
They look like small lumps or growths and are usually found around the penis, vagina, anus or upper thighs.
If you think you might have genital warts, it’s important to have them checked by a healthcare professional.
The warts themselves can be treated and removed, but the virus that causes them can’t be cured.
The best way to prevent genital warts is to use condoms and dental dams for sex.

WHAT ARE GENITAL WARTS?

Genital warts are small, raised, usually painless growths. They are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) which can be passed on through sex without a condom. There are over 100 different strains of HPV. The strain of HPV that causes genital warts is different from the strain that causes genital cancers, such as cervical cancer. The HPV that causes warts isn’t linked to cancer and doesn’t cause any more serious health problems. The warts themselves can be treated and will clear.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF GENITAL WARTS?

Genital warts can appear as a single wart or as multiple warts in a cluster.

Symptoms include:

- one or more small, flesh-coloured or grey painless growths or lumps around your vagina, penis, anus or upper thighs

- itching or bleeding from your genitals or anus

- a change to your normal flow of pee (for example, sideways), that doesn't go away.

Be aware that the warts may be difficult to notice if they are internal (inside the vagina or anus) and that many people with the strain of HPV that causes genital warts will not develop any symptoms or know that they have it.

Symptoms of genital warts can appear weeks, months or years after you were in contact with the virus that causes them.

If you have symptoms of genital warts it’s important to visit a health clinic to have them checked.

HOW DO YOU GET GENITAL WARTS?

Genital warts can be passed on through vaginal or anal sex without a condom and by sharing intimacy gadgets. The virus is transmitted through close genital contact, which means that you can get and pass on warts if you touch genitals with someone, even if you don’t have penetrative sex or ejaculate (cum).

Although it’s rare, genital warts can also be passed on through MouthAction and affect the mouth and throat.

You can only get genital warts from someone else who has the virus, but be aware that not everyone will know if they have it. If the warts are internal someone may not notice them and people can pass on the virus even if they don’t have any symptoms.

You can’t get genital warts from kissing, hugging, swimming pools, sharing towels or cutlery.

If a woman has genital warts while pregnant, there is a risk that she could pass them on to her baby at birth. This isn’t very common, but it’s important that pregnant women seek advice from a healthcare worker if they notice any symptoms.

HOW DO YOU PREVENT GENITAL WARTS?

The best way to prevent genital warts is to use a condom for vaginal, anal and MouthAction. If you’re sharing intimacy gadgets these should be covered with a new condom for each partner and washed between use.

If you have symptoms that could be genital warts you should go to a health clinic to have these checked. If you have genital warts, you may be advised to avoid sex while they're being treated. If you do have sex, make sure that the warts are covered with a condom. This area of skin should be covered with a condom even after the warts have gone. You can still pass the virus on for up to three months after the warts have disappeared. Avoid rubbing or touching your warts, in case you spread the infection to the surrounding area. If you find out that you have genital warts your partner should also get checked.

Talking about your sexual health with your partners, and letting each other know about any symptoms or infections, will help you decide how to have safer sex together.

Reducing your number of sexual partners can also help you reduce your risk of getting sexually transmitted infections, like genital warts. If you are having sex with multiple partners, it’s even more important to use condoms and to have regular STI tests.

Condoms are the best form of protection against STIs and pregnancy. Other contraceptives including the contraceptive pill will not prevent genital warts, neither will PrEP.

CAN I GET TESTED FOR GENITAL WARTS?

Yes - a healthcare professional will usually diagnose warts by looking at them. They may check for hidden warts, by looking inside the vagina and or anus. If you have a problem urinating, a specialist may look at the urethra (the tube that carries pee from your bladder).

This examination shouldn’t be painful and you are welcome to have someone with you for the appointment if it would make you feel more comfortable. It’s not something that you should feel embarrassed about, remember that the healthcare professional will do this all the time.

GENITAL WARTS, HIV and SEXUAL HEALTH

If you have genital warts you should also test for HIV and other STIs. Having an STI, including genital warts, can increase your risk of getting HIV. This is because having an STI makes it easier for HIV to get into your body and cause an infection.

People living with HIV can also be more likely to get genital warts or have more severe cases of genital warts. This is especially the case for people who aren’t on treatment or who have a lower CD4 count. You’re more vulnerable to infections, like genital warts, if your immune system is weaker.

Speak to your healthcare provider if you are living with HIV and taking treatment for genital warts, to make sure that the medication won’t affect your antiretroviral treatment (ART).

HOW TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE GENITAL WARTS INFECTION

Both men and women can get genital warts, but the symptoms might be different. Here is what you need to know.

WOMEN

In women, genital warts appear in and around the vagina or anus, or on the cervix. They might be very small or appear as large clusters. They may be reddish in color or white. Sometimes, you can have genital warts but show no symptoms at all.

If you’re a woman who’s had unprotected sex, you’ll want to have your doctor examine you. Testing for low-risk HPV -- the virus that causes genital warts -- isn’t routinely done. Your doctor will have to examine you to see if you have the virus to know for sure. Warts may appear months or years after sexual contact.

Sometimes, genital warts can form inside your vagina and be hard to spot. You could also have symptoms that look like genital warts but turn out to be something else.

MEN

In men, the warts may appear on the penis, scrotum, or around the anus. For men, there’s no reliable test that can find the virus responsible for genital warts. You’ll need to ask your doctor for an exam or get regular exams.

In both men and women, genital warts can also show up on the lips, mouth, tongue, and throat.

See your doctor right away if you or your partner develops bumps or warts in the genital area or if:

You have an abnormal discharge from your vagina or penis
You have burning, pain, or bleeding when urinating or during sex
Your partner is diagnosed with genital warts or is having some of the symptoms.

*DON'T PASS THE SALT!* _WHO Issues Benchmarks for Sodium Content in Food_

Excessive salt in food and beverages is putting people at greater risk of potentially fatal heart disease and strokes, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday (May 5), issuing fresh guidelines for limiting sodium content.

An estimated 11 million deaths globally are associated with poor diet each year, including 3 million attributable to high sodium intake, it said in a report.

In many wealthy countries, and increasingly in lower income nations, a significant proportion of sodium in the diet comes from manufactured foods such as bread, cereal, processed meats and dairy products including cheese, the WHO said.

Sodium chloride is the chemical name for salt and sodium is a mineral that regulates the amount of water in the body.

Authorities must establish policies to reduce salt intake and provide people with information to make the right food choices, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said.

"We also need the food and beverage industry to cut sodium levels in processed food," Tedros said in a statement.

The new WHO benchmarks, for 64 food and drink categories, are aimed at guiding health authorities in its 194 member states in talks with the food and beverage industry.

For example, potato crisps should contain a maximum of 500mgs of sodium per 100g serving, pies and pastries up to 120mgs and processed meats up to 360mgs, according to its benchmarks.

"Excess dietary sodium intake increases blood pressure and consequently increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases," the WHO said.

Treatment helps speed up the treatment process.

- ease pain, itching, and irritation
- potentially lower the risk of spreading HPV
- get rid of warts that are hard to keep clean.

GENITAL WARTS

Genital warts are one of the most common types of sexually transmitted infections. Nearly all sexually active people will become infected with at least one type of human papillomavirus (HPV), the virus that causes genital warts, at some point during their lives.

Genital warts affect the moist tissues of the genital area. They can look like small, flesh-colored bumps or have a cauliflower-like appearance. In many cases, the warts are too small to be visible.

Some strains of genital HPV can cause genital warts, while others can cause cancer. Vaccines can help protect against certain strains of genital HPV.

In women, genital warts can grow on the vulva, the walls of the vagina, the area between the external genitals and the anus, the anal canal, and the cervix. In men, they may occur on the tip or shaft of the penis, the scrotum, or the anus.

Genital warts can also develop in the mouth or throat of a person who has had oral sexual contact with an infected person.

SIGNS & SYMPTOMS OF GENITIVAL WARTS

- Small, flesh-colored, brown or pink swellings in your genital area.

- A cauliflower-like shape caused by several warts close together.

- Itching or discomfort in your genital area

- Bleeding with intercourse

Genital warts can be so small and flat as to be invisible.

Rarely, however, genital warts can multiply into large clusters in someone with a suppressed immune system.

CAUSES

The human papillomavirus (HPV) causes warts. There are more than 40 strains of HPV that affect the genital area.

Genital warts are almost always spread through sexual contact. Your warts don't have to be visible for you to spread the infection to your sexual partner.

RISK FACTORS

Most people who are sexually active get infected with genital HPV at some time. Factors that can increase your risk of becoming infected include:

- Having unprotected sex with multiple partners

- Having had another sexually transmitted infection

- Having sex with a partner whose sexual history you don't know

- Becoming sexually active at a young age

- Having a compromised immune system, such as from HIV or drugs from an organ transplant

COMPLICATIONS

HPV infection complications can include:

- Cancer. Cervical cancer has been closely linked with genital HPV infection. Certain types of HPV also are associated with cancers of the vulva, anus, penis, and mouth and throat.

HPV infection doesn't always lead to cancer, but it's important for women to have regular Pap tests, particularly those who've been infected with higher risk types of HPV.

- Problems during pregnancy. Rarely during pregnancy, warts can enlarge, making it difficult to urinate. Warts on the vaginal wall can inhibit the stretching of vaginal tissues during childbirth. Large warts on the vulva or in the vagina can bleed when stretched during delivery.

- Extremely rarely, a baby born to a mother with genital warts develops warts in the throat. The baby might need surgery to keep the airway from being blocked.

PREVENTION

- Limiting your number of sexual partners and being vaccinated will help prevent you from getting genital warts. Using a condom every time you have sex is a good idea, but won't necessarily protect you from genital warts.

- Vaccination: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends routine HPV vaccination for girls and boys ages 11 and 12, although it can be given as early as age 9.

It's ideal for girls and boys to receive the vaccine before they have sexual contact.

THE SPIRITUAL POWER OF SEA SALT

There are many great spiritual uses of sea salt. Sea salt can be sprinkled around the home/ house/ compound to remove negative forces and destroy evil spiritual works.

Sea salt is a purifier of many things. Sea salt cleanses and cures. Sea salt preserves.

If you work in a hospital or around sick people or animals, put salt in a vial make sure to cover it securely and wear it around your neck to ward off any negative evil energy which could come through to you, (some peoples sickness are not real, some of them are spiritual attacks a.k.a obeah that manifests to the person as an illness).

Sea salt on its own can suck away dark energy, it is that powerful! Salt preserves and seasons food. Even the holy books references and refers to salt a lot.

If salt is not added to food, it has no flavour. When salt is added to sacrifices it wakes up the deities. Use sea salt, garlic and cinnamon crushed together and sprinkle in the four corners of your house to ward off bad dreams.

Count some Sea salt(number witheld) and garlic glove, pray on it and put it under your pillow before sleep to stop nightmare, demonic oppression and wicked spirits from operating in your environment.

A woman or man suffering from spirit husband or spirit wife, that has made it difficult for him or her to get married or go into any lasting relationship. Anyone going through this can use sea salt to permanently blind/bind such spirit husband/wife and set themselves free.

Some say, if you are broke, put some Sea salt (number witheld) in your wallet, purse, bag or pocket and go out, and you will not come back empty, money must come back with you. They said that; you will find favour everywhere you go!

It is also being said that, placing certain number of sea salt (number witheld) at certain strategic locationn(s) in your office, or at your business place, will attract patronage and favour.

A sea salt bath can be used for spiritual cleansing and purification process..

Sea salt can treat all manner of skin infections!

The Ocean is salt water and it's one of the best places you can go to release bad energies, because of the salt there. Take a salt bath every seven days, use sea salt and water to help you remember your studies and pass your tests, and make your professors like you, lol. (ok that is cheating, so I will not explain that one).

If you know how to use sea salt, you will fear nothing.

All power belongs to GOD!

MY GRANDMOTHER USED TO MIX BAKING SODA WITH BUSH HONEY and Look How She Used This Mixture!

The wisdom of older generations often offers us treasures of knowledge, passed down from generation to generation. Among this valuable information is an old recipe that my grandmother used to use, mixing baking soda with honey. At first glance, this combination may seem unusual, but in reality it has many health benefits and amazing applications. In this article, we’ll explore how my grandmother used this magical blend.

1. The Basic Mixture: Baking Soda and Honey
Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is a versatile product commonly found in every kitchen. It is used for cooking, cleaning and even medical purposes. Honey, on the other hand, is a natural substance produced by bees, known for its antibacterial properties and health benefits.

My grandmother mixed a small amount of baking soda with honey to form a thick paste. This paste was the starting point for many of the tricks and remedies she used.

2. For Healthy Digestion
My grandmother regularly took a small teaspoon of this mixture after meals to promote healthy digestion. Baking soda can help neutralize stomach acid, while honey soothes the digestive tract. This simple combination was his favorite remedy for digestive problems.

3. Against Sore Throat and Irritations
In case of sore throat, irritation or cough, my grandmother turned to her magic mixture. A spoonful of the paste of baking soda and honey, taken several times a day, effectively relieved these symptoms. The baking soda acted as an antiseptic, while the honey soothed the throat.

4. A Gentle Scrub for the Skin
My grandmother also used this mixture to take care of her skin. By applying it to her face as a gentle scrub, she obtained soft and radiant skin. Baking soda acts as a natural exfoliant, removing dead skin cells, while honey hydrates and soothes the skin.

5. For Whiter Teeth
Another secret of my grandmother for good oral hygiene was to use this mixture to whiten her teeth. She gently rubbed her teeth with the baking soda and honey paste, achieving a brighter smile.

6. Against Insect Bites
In summer, when insect bites were common, my grandmother would apply this mixture to the affected areas. The baking soda reduced the itching and the honey helped soothe the skin irritation.

7. In the kitchen
In addition to its many medicinal and cosmetic uses, this mixture was also used in cooking. My grandmother sometimes added it to recipes to regulate the acidity of dishes or to give a sweet and slightly salty flavor to certain dishes.

In conclusion, my grandmother’s recipe for mixing baking soda with honey was a treasure trove of knowledge passed down from generation to generation. Its multiple uses for health, beauty and even cooking make it a versatile and natural remedy. It is important to note that although this blend may offer many benefits, it is best to consult a healthcare professional before using it extensively, especially if you have pre-existing health conditions. The wisdom of older generations continues to inspire simple and effective remedies for our daily well-being.
