If you over tax them they will take it on the workers under them by
1: slashing their salaries
2: laying off their minor staffs
3: inflating the price of their commodities.

So govt, choose which one you want to go with. Is it not the best to tell Nigerians the truth about the stolen wealth bn stashed in somewhere by ds criminal politicians who hide under the umbrella of the ruling parties both in Federal, state & LG

Wicked Wike grin

None of these is good like having a youth with brain. Or better still a coup by a good young Military guy.
Someone who could cut down the salaries of the thieves in the honorable houses. Jail those that are guilty of stealing and bring about good policies that can lift the economy.

Taxing items that in my the rich can access is good, don't you want taxes to reduce?

Good advice.

I also suggest Buhari should appoint athifku as the chairman of the presidential committee for this job.

Compulsorily he should then lead by example by first taxing himself. Or is he a poor man?

Luxury tax ke.

Them never agree to pay normal tax finish

A population of less the 5 percent rich cannot subsidize for more than 60 percent poor. It's not sustainable.

We have to think smart. Engage this youth. Population is a resource. If we want to go socialism in a world of prime capitalism it won't work.

Rather creat a zero home portal for other nations. Tax free with cheap labour incentives.

We don't have any choice. We have to summit ourselves to be use by wealthy nation's. That's the only way we can train ourselves and make money legitimately while earning trust and respect. China is doing it. America is shipping job there because of low wages.

We need to generate force. With this kind of population we just need the be working anyway. All the indicators or stats will just keep firing. Their is nothing to measure because we not even active.

Anything to turn the table to favour the poor is okay by me. Nigeria is so rich that we should by now have wiped away extreme poverty. I have always advocated the redistribution of wealth, tax heavily the rich and pay the poor whose account balances read below 20,000 naira. The churches are not excluded in this tax and same with the mosques and politicians. Then, I advocate the 75% mandatory quota for recruitment of Nigerians in every private organization. Also use the taxes from the super rich to pay the police and other paramilitary agencies better salaries and allowances to have them combat crime. Build industries from plastic to agro to chemical allied industries and also solid mineral dependent industries.

A poor man will always remain a poor man, inasmuch his mentality remains.

Giving an intellectually poor personality money, in the hope of bringing him out of poverty is fruitless.

Wealth isn't an object.

What I mean by giving back to the poor is.. By taxing the super rich to provide basic amenities that will help the poor to improve their lives. Like using the taxpayers money for free health care services for them, free education for the poor masses, good roads to the villages to help the poor especially the farmers.

Increasing the minimum wage to N100, 000. With that on board, even the intellectually poor like you tagged them will be forced to work and earn enough money for a better living.

I reside here in South Africa, government hospitals are free, no matter the kind of sickness or surgery you need, it's free of charge. There are RDP houses built for the poor, accident insurance funds for anyone involved in an accident, unemployment fund for those who lost their jobs/not working. Grants for the elderly, child grants for kids whose parents are not working.

All of the above comes from the said tax we are talking about. Now let me ask you, if we have all that, won't the poor enjoy the country just like the rich?

Blood ,Fire, and water ,

This is the the final destination of Nigeria. Those who are still hopeful that the country called Nigeria will somehow find a way out of this nebulous misery without a Bloody Revolution are in denial of the truth. Nigeria is the playground of the most wicked criminals in Politics, the home of the most cruel men in Power and the comfort zone of pathological liars.

Nigeria is founded on Lies and sustained by lies, For those who are hoping that the doom of the country will somehow be averted by routines of Elections and a change of Power either from the East, West of North. I have one word for you, Keep fooling yourselves. It will not happen.

No change of government can prevent the impending doom, Nigeria is seating on a keg of gun powder. It is a time bomb that will explode without warning. Expect the worse. Some may ask, why did i make this hard statement about the country? It is because of a better understanding. We have paddled this boat for over 50 Years and can state without mincing word, that the country's doom is hinging close

When you have a country with wicked men like Buhari, the current impostor who somehow wriggled himself into our existence after his failure in the 80s,

A coup plotter who ousted a “democratically” selected Sheu Shagari and wasted opportunity by his selfish ambition for power, A fanatic, a nepotist and man lacking in intelligence whose only interest in power is to through his clinging to power waste the ambition of Young people while using proxy to rule. With a man such as this, do not expect so much

A country where Babangida a corrupt element who wickedly began the downward trend of the country when he institutionalized corruption, a man who embodies everything evil in the opportunity he had to drive the ship of state, I need not tell you how this criminal who is too afraid to step outside of the country for his wickedness ruined the destiny of many citizens and hid both himself and the resources of the country in Minna, his only stop outseide of Nigeria since stepping out of power is Germany because he knows that there are dossiers of his crime for which justice sleeps endlessly in Nigeria.

A country where crooks the like of Obasanjo, a Liar, a scammer and s double tongued failure who wasted eight years and sought to become the Mugabe with his third term agenda for which bribes was flying around the National assembly in a Ghana must go bags just for this selfish, power drunk criminal of Abeokuta to entrench himself , to imagine that the same Obasanjo is now being regarded through a fraudulent media which they created as a Nationalist by ignorant men is a course to believe that the doomsday is just being delayed, Obasanjo who in revenge of the failure to have a third term ambition, imposed a sick Man on the country so that the failure of the Late Yar adua will make all consider him as a better man, Men who aught to be in Jail if there was justice in the Land keep a constant presence on our conscience. The list of these failure are many, From Goodluck Jonathan under whose nose criminals became relevant, some taking solace away in foreign climes and others being jailed by the criminal in Power to Abdusalami Abubakar, the man who looted the loots after the death of a despot,

The List of these criminals are many, criminals who we call leaders who pocketed the Police and pay them Poverty wage to prevent the rage of the masses, Criminals who uses the Army to fight the citizens, these are the criminals we call leaders

Those who did not understand the history of Nigeria will confuse these criminals as Leaders, Nigeria in her 60 Years of existence has not produced a Leader, we have been very unfortunate to have profligates as Leaders, men without conscience, who sees the country as a Project site, where they loot the treasury and leave the masses worse than they met them.
The resources of the country is enough to feed the whole country, the Oil in Niger Delta, the income and revenue of the government in Tax, the proceed of Aviation, the revenue from Maritime, the huge investment from the Telecoms company, name it, the monies being generated in the country is enough to feed Nigeria, It is enough to create Business and employment fro the citizens, Nigeria is one of the richest countries in the world with Criminals overseeing the resources.
We have no reason whatsoever to Borrow money from any foreign countries, there is not reason to be indebted to China, or the Paris club.

The one reason we are constantly thrown into Debts is because we allowed myopic and incompetent buffoons to seat over the resources of the state.
The clueless criminals both past and present, Killed every infrastructure, maintained Nothing, and created no Jobs for citizens, all the industries of Government was destroyed by bad managers and no one is sentenced to Jail for stealing the resources belonging to all the citizens, the criminals licensed thievery because they themselves are thieves. They broke every Law and used their position to syphone the resources of the country into privates vaults. They had the Police to protect them, they made bribery an accepted norm.

These criminals ruined the lives of the Youths, they made no provision for the growing Youth of the country, Nigerian Youths have the most brilliant and the most talented people across the continent of Africa, who needed little motivation to tap into the wealth of natural endowment deposited in them, But these criminals we called Leader, weaponized Poverty, created a system where parents cannot fend for themselves of compelled to struggle unaided by the government and demoralized the Younger generation. In recent times, It was so shocking to hear of Young people committing suicide, because they got to their extremities and saw no hope in the social condition imposed on them by the criminals we called Leaders

There are lots of untapped skills in the growing population of Nigeria, who hoped on the society to harness their innate gifts but was left unattended, Young people gets out of school disappointed by the society they call home and have had to look to foreign climes where they are subjected to all forms of abuse and disgrace for survival. This is only because wicked criminals made the country's resources their inheritance and seats in power without a clue. Several young people for the failure of these dinosaurs who recycled themselves into power promising a haven of relief which they all disallowed by their tyranny against the masses, through the Police and the army. These wicked Criminals postponed the evil day which is imminent
They witnessed a taste of it in the October #ENDSARS agitation, which they quelled by the guns and are struggling to deny by lies

The Last time we were out in unanimity against a wicked government was during the Brutal reign of the Evil Genus called Babangida and this was the collective protest organized without social media in all the the southern Universities of the Country, It was during one of this protest i propounded the

Theory of Blood, Fire, and Water.

The Blood representing a total Revolution that will see an end to the injustices by these wicked unrepentant dinosaurs, A revolution that will go after the known criminals who ruined us, irrespective of their tribe, religion and affiliations, a revolution that will be deadly, It will spill the Blood of these wicked monsters who prevented the development of the country, men who made us a shame of the whole wide world., men for whose clueless reign and failure one country can regard us as a shithole, we will go after their properties, the ones built from the proceed of corruption, the things by which they differentiate themselves from the other citizens, wicked men who prior to their part in politic are paupers but stole the country so blind and build mansions for themselves and all their generation yet unborn. It will be worse for these men and their offspring who we know. Their Police should be ready, they will soon realize that the Power of the masses is more than the few men hired to protect oppressors.

During the #ENDSARS movement, we saw Police begging for their lives, some took to their heels when the people said enough is enough, This is what happen when the oppressor pushes the masses to their extremities as has been done by the profligates we called Leaders. Some of them are getting old and dying but they should be aware that all the proceed of corruption which they erected for their bastard children will become monument for the museum when the masses take over their loots.

This is a notice to all those who ruined the country from Gowon to the current criminal who is currently looting the country and annexing the North to Niger and is taking a unilateral decision as a dictator that he is to sign a pact with Niger to export crude oil from Nigeria and export the bi-product back to Nigeria, an embarrassing disgrace into which they have consistently wickedly thrown the country into. If this is the Buhari that we knew in 1983 and not the one from Chad or Sudan, we will make him pay for this unilateral foolishness and all the proceeds and resources stolen to build an empire for themselves will be retrieved in a bloody revolution soon to come.

Then Fire, the fire will be the rage of the masses for and the resolve to take back what has been stolen by these failures, it will be the retribution for the wicked, they will be unable to escape as this will be the day of reckoning and the rage of the masses. For those of them who think we are a docile people and have continually ruined the country and gifted themselves all the land and properties from the failure into which the plunged us into by plundering, They will have a time to mourn and regret if they are alive to tell the story. It will happen. Even it it does not happen in my day, It will sure happen and the oppressors should reflect on what their starched ill gotten wealth will become whether dead or alive, all the monies thy looted in bringing Telecommunication, all the Bribe collected by the likes of Dina Melaye who should be stoned like many of the criminals in the useless senate and all their arrogance by which they insulted us, they will loose it when the fire rage across this country

It then we can have water, the cleansing that will begin the rebirth of a nation, if we do not go our separate ways which is likely to happen after the revolution.
This will be the destination of the lie we called a country
an this is a memo to the oppressor and all their military and Police who revel in corruption and are silenced by the misery money they called salary by which they turned on the masses
Complain, complain, complain. That is what we always do. Many nigerians complain because they are victims of the system, not because they care about the country. What happens when they suddenly have millions in their bank account, and living lavishly in mansions, their children are schooling in London and having holidays at Monaco? You won't hear them complain again.
Where do you think bad leaders come from? They come from our society. In Nigeria people mistake craftiness for intelligence - oversense . Look around you in Nigerian society, it's all chaos, we love to break simple rules to achieve selfish goals. We have a way of life that promotes corruption, sometimes we call it "hustling" - corrupt politicians are hustling too.
Revolution comes from a change of mindset, not by fighting - another criminal will emerge from the woodworks later on, and the viscous cycle of corruption continues. How many Nigerians are ready to change their bad habits for the betterment of the nation?
Nation building is a down-up movement, if the everyday things of the common society are messed up, the government will be messed up too because they will repeat what we do in a large scale.

then what do you think should be the solution?

You will think i am joking but the honest truth is to burn it all down and start over. Nigeria's problem is more psychological than any other issue. Nigerians have been immersed in it from birth so they don't know how bad it is. Believe it or not, Ghana was at a cross roads at one point. Their corruption was as bad as today's Nigeria. You know who saved them? Jerry Rawlings. People really do not give him credit for what he did for Ghana. He assembled all the OBJs, the Buharis, the Atikus of his time and executed all of them and they started over. Even if that is done in Nigeria today it won't change anything. An average 15 year old in Nigeria is a "sharp guy". The concept of "chop I chop" has seeped into the mentality of Nigerians and there is no way you can rid that culture out of a person. That person needs to die. Period. A transactional country can never succeed and Nigeria's society is transactional. We are facing the same thing now in the U.S. We elected a transactional president in Donald Trump and he almost wrecked democracy. Thank the heavens he didn't succeed. Americans elected a president who had the mentality of a Nigerian.

But actually it isn't, he is instead trying to sound like he cares for the poor, whereas he didn't.
He is actually doing this for his own political ambition.

And until we learn to be sane as a nation, those things you mention above will be far from being achieved, cause even if the money where realised, it mostly wouldn't be used for the intended purpose.

Confirmed: Ruto's Trip to Dubai in Photos

https://www.kenyans.co.ke/news/59358-confirmed-rutos-trip-dubai-photos

By DENIS MWANGI on 20 November 2020 - 7:49 pm

Kenyans.co.ke can now reveal Deputy President William Ruto’s whereabouts after much speculation on social media.

The online platforms were rife with rumours that DP Ruto had traveled out of the country after a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday, November 18.

A close source to the county’s second in command disclosed that Ruto met with former Nigeria Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Dubai, UAE, on Friday, November 20.

Among those who accompanied the deputy president was former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar.

The photo raised confusion as to whether the DP was in Nigeria while online political pundits claimed he was in Dubai.

Kenyans.co.ke can authoritatively report that the meeting took place in Dubai where the Nigerian politician has been living for many years.
Ruto is very active in public engagements and his whereabouts are likely to concern his followers and critics alike.

Kenyans were particularly interested in how the Deputy President would celebrate his wife Rachel's birthday which falls on November 20.

Mama Rachel was also not seen in the photos that emerged of Ruto in Dubai.

By the time of publishing, the DP had not posted a message to his spouse as he was fond of doing in previous years.

“Happy Birthday my lovely wife, best friend, confidant and companion, Mama Rachel. You are the greatest gift of my life, my peerless supporter and a distinguished mother to our lovely children. I am proud of you,” Ruto posted in 2019.

Coincidentally, the deputy president’s birthday falls exactly 31 days after his wife’s on December 21.

HigherEd:
Taxes never save the poor. It only encourages more wasteful government spending.

What we need. Lower prices of necessary commodities by deprioritising revenue generation from customs. This should be done in areas where sizeable local manufacture is impracticable within the short term.

Do whatever you can to slash inflation rate to below 7%.

Total cut down of wasteful financial cost of governance.

Careful transit expensive socialist programmes to sustainable and self reliant ones.
Reducing taxes of key sectors of the economy can help the poor to cushion the effect from high inflation.
Reduction of taxes doesn't always means monetary taxes, it can be inform of incentives in certain areas of the key sector of the economy.
In the Agriculture sector : the FG can cut prices or reduce the cost for fertilizer, seedling, etc which will encourage more people into Agriculture(there by diversifying the economy) there by reducing the high cost of the local food production , which in turn reduce or make prices of commodities affordable virtually for everyone. Accessing fertilizers, seedling or inputs, the taxes on those is the same whether rich or poor, also it will create employment, reduce unsustainable government spending on creating empowerment programs.

Income : FG can reduce income tax for people who earns at a certain amount of income which does not place them on the rich bracket, which will enable people afford commodity in the market. Which will encourage more people to save and venture into business which can create employment for the youths in the country.
Electricity : government can cut the taxes of high electricity charges or bills, for poor farmers or businesses who are small scale or start-up to enable them grow to commercial and tax them to get revenue for development of the country.
Tax can save the poor if it is well structured.

This will be an injustice to the super rich.

If anyone wants to help anyone, they should be allowed to do it without compulsion.

For me, my opinion remains the same.

We are spending too much to finance useless political institutions such as the National Assembly.

Lawmakers should be paid wages, not salaries. They should only receive money when there are plenaries.

They should be allowed to work on other jobs. Full time lawmaking is too expensive, and does not encourage lawmakers to give their best.

Also, political office holders should cut down on the cost of governance. Keeping too many personnel on their payroll is not necessary at all. Sacrifices should include multitasking employees, rather than spreading out responsibilities to many employees.

If a person can do three jobs, give it to him to save cost of employing 2 more persons.

Name one super-rich Nigeria operating from within her shores who did not get rich from racketeering and jobbery...it's not a question of more tax, if the government cut down on wasteful spending and contract-inflation alone there would be enough money to develop the sectors that actually matter i.e. agric and manufacturing

But that would mean a reduction in the huge amounts of cash available for them to steal so the bastards won't do it...every single one of these ministers and govt functionaries is elbows-deep in some from of white collar fraud or the other because in Nigeria fraud is a way of life

God forbid super-greedy Atiku should get to Aso Rock, all these platitudes he mouths on twitter would be thrown out the window so fast when he starts his own round of stealing and nepotism...hypocrite
