To put hope in the ephemeral things of this world is to be hopeless.

To have the believe that this world would someday be a peaceful and better world is to be hopelessly hopeless.

Not hopeless really, but actually wishing you'd still be here on earth during the first 3½ years of the reign of the Antichrist. This is when a false peace would reign here on earth, courtesy of the Antichrist.
