I lived in a Duplex the whole of my life. I can't say that this is a good idea. I think it is better to live in your own house or an apartment, it is even better than a duplex. I think maybe it depends on your neighbors because we have not good neighbors and all we do together is only renewing our house. They are a family from Greece and they are not so friendly. I think they hate us because sometimes they don't even greet us when we meet in the city. Once we wanted to repair the roof, we waited for them a month to pay for the Mi tower hire. After that, we decided that we will pay all by ourselves.
