...Recall that 2 days ago, a member of the United Kingdom parliament, James Duddridge, had accused former Military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd), of corruption while in office.

Speaking at the parliament’s debate on the #EndSARS crisis on Monday, the lawmaker alleged that Gowon stole half of the money in the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, while he was leaving office and moved to London.

The MP disclosed that some Nigerian politicians have stolen from the coffers of the government and moved to London to hide their loot. He, however, asked the UK government to call out the corruption in Nigeria and use its power to stop the looting happening in Africa’s most populous country.

Gowon is a war criminal, he didn't stop at victory, he sought humiliation, he had no rules of engagement, he was an extremely cruel man. No sugarcoating it.

So long as he has been cleared of all allegations twice both by the board and an independent body, then what you believe is as inconsequential as you are. Was Abacha loot as much as half the CBN?.. Does it suggest that Gowon is way more corrupt than Abacha. If anything at all, why can't the UK Govt. deem it necessary to return a large chunk of half the CBN he looted and refer it as "Gowon Loot" so that we can at least believe them.

If only Adesina knows d collateral damage he is about doing to his soaring credibility and integrity. The British know a lot we don't know and why I would have personally craved for d MP to come forth with more evidence to nail Gowon, it will quite preposterous for any sane Nigerian to come defending a man under his watch over 3 million Igbos were slaughtered in a needless civil war due to his reneging of d Aburi Accord
