A Nigerian, Oshiorenya Agabi has created a device that can detect explosives, Covid-19, cancer cells and other ailments.
The device, Koniku Kore, is the first to fuse live neurons from mice stem cells in a silicon chip.
" We merged synthetic neurobiology with traditional silicon technology ", he explained.
Agabi, who was a roadside food vendor, while studying in UNILAG, where he obtained his BSc, travelled abroad, and bagged a master's in physics and PhD in computational neuroscience Bioengineering.
He has been able to raise $30,000 as capital and will start production in December 2020.
