Canada Federal Skilled Worker Class by sunky644(m): 7:59am On Mar 23, 2011
I am applying for the Canada Federal Skilled Worker Class and I need advice from
1. Knowledgable Nlander.
2. Successful applicants.
3. Good Nigerians in Canada with good understanding of immigration stuffs.
I graduated 2yrs ago while my wife graduated 3years ago. I have 6months experience as a Program officer of a private NGO and 1year with a private Health-based company as the Project Manager while my wife has 2years experience as Food Supervisor in the Boarding house section of a secondary school. I have Bachelor degree in Biochemistry while she has a Bachelor degree in Food science as well as an Associate member of the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria and she is doing her Post-graduate course in Food Science(her field). She scored 82 in Toefl and I am preparing for IELTS but optimistic of scoring at least 6.5. We are expecting a baby soonest in say 2months time and will like to travel with the baby if successful.
My question is; between me and my wife who should be the Principal Applicant?
Other advice and tips on successful application will be appreciated.
NB. We are doing it ourself no agent.

@suxes2005, its well stated there. She's a Food Supervisor in the Boarding house section of a secondary school, in charge of the supervision of the cooking and service. I ve checked the website and I am very familiar with it, infact I ve gone as far as taking eligibility test on the website as well as with some immigration attorney and agents. They all confirmed our eligibility and they even keep disturbing to use them as our Attorney and Representative. We all have our specialisation in the NOC list also.

Canada offers so many opportunities for people from all over the world to emigrate from their own country. You can apply to immigrate from your country of origin and when your application is successfully granted your permanent resident card (PR Card) is issued to you so that you can relocate. However, a lot of people have gotten jobs before immigrating which even enhances the immigration process.

You must bear in mind that despite immigrating with your Permanent Resident Card most people have actually gotten very good job offers from Canada while still living in their own country. If the job is certified by the Human Resources and Skills development Centre, Canada (HRSDC), they no longer need to wait for their PR Card before they can travel and work. A visa and work permit is issued to the individual from his country of origin which enables him to comfortably work. Although this person still has the status of a temporary resident he can still be working comfortably in Canada while waiting for his application for a permanent resident status to be approved.

There are so many wonderful agencies in Canada. They are dedicated to recruiting workers for Canadian employers within and outside the country.

Hi everyone. Hope u all are doing great! Please i need a sincere advice from u. My family applied for canadian skilled workers PR in 2009,submitted a whole lot of documents and each time i checked the online status, it says IN PROCESS. So we got tired of waiting and moved to dublin ireland early this year. Two days ago i got a letter from canadian immigration requesting for updated documents ,original copies of our marriage cert and birth cert including the right of permanent residency fee,the letter says we have been given 6o days. So i just went online the same day to check the status of application and it says DECISION MADE. Abeg my pple does it mean its been approved or what? We r confused as to weather to pursue it or just forget it. Ireland is fine but their tax system is driving me insane, imagine losing half of your pay every month! Please pple ,do u think canada is better than ireland,if so please state why. I need an honest advice,if i knew it, i wouldnt be asking, thanks and God bless

Although I ve not been to any of the countries but from what we ve been reading and hearing, I think Canada is better than Ireland. I strongly advice that you submit and follow the documents they requested for. I must say you are lucky and you must ve applied in the first or second quarter of the year 2009 cos most applications after that time were returned. I think you are successful, they just need to verify the authenticity of your documents. What's the nature of your job and that of your husband?
