40% of Kano voters being Igbo suggests a similarly large fraction of the population of Kano is Igbo. Which to me seems. . . surprising and counterintuitive.

This might just be propoganda.

We have an Itsekiri governor in Delta state sir, and they are a minority. We will one day have an Isoko governor as well, and of course, we are very likely to have an Igbo governor next. Delta state is the only state where nobody is disenfranchised, chew on that and die with jealousy.
