Aisha Yesufu Sends Strong Message To The National Assembly. by Iamagchristian: 8:24am On Dec 10, 2020
Aisha Yesufu, a Nigerian social-political activist and a co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement took to her Twitter handle and sent a very strong message to the Nigerian legislators concerning Malami’s statement.
In her words she said; “dear National Assembly, you have the power to impeach the president. Let me tell you something, nothing will happen when he is impeached. He is now an albatross in the neck of even his own people. They are looking for ways to tell him to come and be going! Help them!
Recall that the House of Representatives passed a resolution to summon the president over the rising insecurity in the country. Reacting to this, Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation released a statement saying that it was not within the powers of the national assembly to summon the president over his operational use of the armed forces.
Do you think Aisha’s message was adequate in a situation of this nature?
