I know some of us here still don't know the difference between foreign ducks (mallard-derived),Muscovies (local ducks) and MULLARDS which people sometimes mistake for a foreign duck
Well obviously from the looks you can tell the difference (below is a pic of some of my foreign ducks @Ryeofarms)

How much do u sell 3weeks or 4weeks old muscovy ducks?

pls. How can i make my muscovy to come back home to roost when they are being free ranged? And if i decide to be leaving them outside the house will they be safe from wild animals & cold?.thanks

The secret is to handraise them right from when they’re ducklings allow them to imprint on you by probably hand feeding them and also ensure this is dine close to where you want them to roost

Secondly,
Yh they will be but you won’t clip their
Wings because they would need to flee at any sight of danger and that means flying but this is a greater risk if you don’t succeed at getting them to imprint on you
I on my own part had no issues with that so I had no reasons to clip their wings and they still stayed

@RYEOFARMS RYEOFARMS and every other person, I'm really interested in raising ducks on a commercial scare for meat purpose but my problem is the market viability in the north. I live in Kano and don't think they really eat ducks here. Can one get a large and steady market for it outside Kano even if it means cutting back a little on profit due to transportation cost and commissions?

Wow. That is quite different from several information I got online about Pekin ducks.

Your thread kindled my interest in ducks and I made further research on them. And I took particular interest in the Pekin duck because I read from many sources online that they grow very fast and are usually slaughtered at 6weeks to 8weeks where they would have reached around 3kg. Some called it the broiler duck.

So I was thinking that if they can reach 3kg in 6-7wks with proper feeding then they may reach same size or close to that in 3 months (12wks) if on free range without supplemental feeding.

Could it be that we don't have the type of Pekin that these people are talking about?
