The lesson I learnt from the exercise is that; For me (not others), drawing realistic lips is not possible without including the surrounding skin to give it depth. I have seen mostly pencil artist that draw the lips alone and it still came out realistic. If you watch the video, I couldn't archived that without shading the surrounding skin around the lips.
