Angry Youth have burnt down a police station in Igbo-Ukwu Aguata Local Government area of Anambra State following  the shooting of a motorcycle rider.

According to eye witness, police and motorcycle riders in the area have been engaging in series of altercation over the recent restriction of movement of motorcylist beyond 9pm by the Anambra State Government..

The Victim who is from Ebonyi state but based in Anamba was said to have enaged in an altercation with a police man which lead to his shooting on Tuesday.



In a reprisal attack, the Youth numbering in hundreds went to Igbo-Ukwu police station and set it ablaze.



When Alaigbopress Reporters arrived the area, the popular Nkwo Igbo market which was the scene of the accident was scanty and some market women and men were seen hurriedly locking up their shops. Although calm and serenity have returned although some people were still afraid of a possible break down of law and order.

While reacting to the sad event the state Commissioner for police, CP John Abang has appealed for calm and ordered for immediate detention of police men involved.



He also ordered for full investigation into the matter and assured the general public that justice will prevail in the matter and the outcome of police investing will be made public.
