Governor Bello Masari of Katsina State, on Wednesday, responded to the question on why President Muhammadu Buhari failed to visit the Government Science Secondary School in Kankara area of the state.

Masari said those willing to know why Buhari failed to visit the school should ask the president themselves.

Recall that Boko Haram had abducted some students from the GSSS last week Friday.

Confirming the abduction, leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, had said the students were kidnapped to discourage western education.

Shekau had also said the abduction was to encourage Islam.

Following the incident, Buhari was berated by Nigerians for failing to visit the scene of the incident which happened while he was in the state.

Buhari is currently in his hometown of Daura, in the same Katsina State.

However, Masari who appeared on Channels Television was questioned on if he asked why Buhari refused to visit the scene, the governor said he did not ask the president when he visited him.

Responding, Masari said: “You go and ask him, I didn’t ask him that.”

"..Members of the Katsina State House of Assembly have lamented what they termed worsening insecurity situation in the state, saying......both President Buhari & Governor Aminu Masari have failed in securing the lives and property of Katsina State citizens. Our people are being killed on a daily basis but nothing has been done."

The entire security structure of Nigeria is unfairly in the hands of Northerners as heads. Buhari's lopsided appointments unfairly favour the Northerners. This is literally Northerners-driven government.

Yet the same Northerners under the umbrella of Boko Haram, bandits and Fulani herders have been frustrating Buhari's effort to secure Nigeria while the heads of security agencies 'slumber'.

Imagine kidnapping hundreds of students to "welcome' Buhari to his Daura hometown and then moving them from Katsina to Zamfara across villages without any resistance from the security agencies or relay of intel by the locals. Now, they are demanding ransom. That's UNACCEPTABLE.

Now, what would Buhari's visit to Kankara school achieve other than to console and give marching order to same old security chiefs? Buhari is obviously tired of the whole shenanigans. If Northerners like, let them kill themselves. They will regret it if they do not wake up NOW and smell the coffee that is brewing.

However, I blame Buhari for not changing security chiefs to freshen things up. He should damn the "ambitious officers" cock and bull story they are spinning. Fire them!
