this project cannot be completed in the next 30 years. This project cannot rival Dubai one bit. Even the sandfilling has been abandoned since 2018. Many of those who bought lands pre buhari cannot come out to claim or develop their plots. Efcc and bubu is waiting for them.

Buhari is waiting for Clinton? Wetin you smoke?

The he goat should keep using his body odour to chase investors out of Nigeria, na una loss , you those those you are talking about are yet to move their funds elsewhere? He should keep waiting..

You don't need to tell where an average Nigerian comes from even if he's light skinned..

Just pay attention to his comments.. You would first see words such as: idiot, fool, stupid guy, werey, ewu.. Etc.

They just can't argue constructively or ignore certain things.

SMH! WE CAN DO BETTER YOU KNOW..

Stop thinking that people are too poor to afford stuff in Nigeria or Africa.

I remember when Shoprite were considering entering Nigeria a few years ago.

On this very Nairaland and other forums, you had many people saying that Shoprite were wasting their time coming to Nigeria, as only the ''very few rich politicians'' could afford to shop in malls, and that the average Nigerian was living on ''less than a dollar a day'', and was therefore far too poor to patronise shopping malls or help them make a profit.

Shoprite rightfully IGNORED all the naysayers and pessimists, and entered the Nigerian market.

The result? They can't even cope with the level of demand, and are building more and more outlets all over Nigeria, some in places as unlikely as Awka and Aba and Oshogbo!

That is why nobody should EVER listen to Nigerians when thinking of doing business in Nigeria.

I've never seen a people with so much to offer, yet who think so low of themselves.
Where is Shoprite in Aba?

You cannot become a giant of a continent by the success of a small slice of a city of huge country like Nigeria.

well Said. It is funny how some people conclude about things. Security, education, power generation & distribution, health etc are all in shambles and yet you want to rival other countries of the world..

That takes MONEY.

Nigeria's annual budget is a pitiful 35 billion dollars for 200 million people.

South Africa's annual budget is 125 billion dollars.

UK, 1.7 TRILLION dollars.

France, 2.2 TRILLION dollars.

USA, 7. 6 TRILLION dollars.

The oil income we make is not enough.

Even without corruption it would be impossible to develop the entire nation with that kind of money we make.

We must expand and diversify this economy to fund that kind of society you yearn for.

That is where projects like Eko Atlantic come in.

That tax revenue alone that would accrue to govt from all the world class businesses operating there could surpass the oil income we currently receive annually.

the country is living in poverty

Or we could just, you know, fix the things that drive the economy in the first place like the Lagos light rail project, the National Theatre, the Epe Airport project which was abandoned and so on instead of waiting for X years for foreigners to buy land in Eko Atlantic when even the land reclamation projects of the UAE are not being bought.

By the time Eko Atlantic is completed, anyone still going to Dubai, na you know wetin you dey go find there.

Eko Atlantic will make Lagos Africa's greatest city, and Africa's most visited city.

It will be a global investment and tourism magnet that will put a stamp to Nigeria's status as the undisputed Giant of Africa, and a major international power.

When will it be completed judging from when it started? How many buildings are presently standing on d site that u are now comparing it with Dubai?

Thank God for the vision.
Let's all support this to become a reality.

What else can Nigerians wish for?

And this is one reason we all must ensure we support the policing agencies in Nigeria because peace and security is Paramount for actualizing big dreams of this magnitude

Nigeria's answer to Dubai would be to make the country safe, clean, with decent roads and constant electricity.
simple.. Start from the basics.. Education, security, power generation and distribution, health etc should be priority..
