Romans 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Romans 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

We are not to be closed-off to those who are weak in the faith but rather to receive them as little children and the Lord Jesus says that. Whoever receives one of these little children in His name, receives Him, yet receives not Him but Him who sent Him, that’s our God and Father that sent the Lord Jesus Christ( Mark 9:37).

And we should also be careful to receive them without any dispute over doubtful things, that is we should avoid foolish disputes and striving about the law, contentions, for they are unprofitable and useless(Titus 3:9).
We are admonished to live peacefully with all men for the God we serve is a God of peace(Romans 12:18, 2 Corinthians 13:11).

All things are lawful to the believer(1 Corinthians 6:12)

➖ RESPECTING THE LIBERTY OF FELLOW SAINTS IN CHRIST JESUS.

Romans 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

Knowing all things are lawful to the believer, we should not despise our fellow believer who does not partake of a particular thing you partake in, respecting the liberty of fellow saints because all things are lawful to the believer.
So we should not judge that brother or that sister who may not partake of that thing that you are in favour of but we respect each other and not judge one another.

The Lord Jesus tells us that we should not judge, so that we ourselves will not be judge, for with what judgement you or I judge, we also will be judged and with the measure we use, it will be measured back to us(Matthew 7:1-2).
So brethren, let us take to heart these words and by the grace of God ceasing from judging our fellow brethren in Christ(James 4:11-12).

➖ STRICT REFUSAL TO JUDGE FELLOW SAINTS BELONGING TO GOD IN CHRIST JESUS.

Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Also we are to take note of the fact that we are Christ’s and Christ’s is God’s(1 Corinthians 3:23).
Therefore, who are you to judge? Who am I to judge?(Jam 4:12) To judge one who does not belong to you and has a master, an owner.
To the master that servant stands or falls. Indeed, the master can make the servant stand.

What this means is that if someone, a fellow brother or sister, seems to be falling away, it is to the owner not to you and you have no right to judge that person, one who does not belong to you but to another. And that person, the master can make that person stand.

(2) ACKNOWLEDGING THE SAINT’S FREEDOM AND SUBMISSION TO THE LORD JESUS IN ALL THINGS.

We will look at three things now:
➖ THE LIBERTY OF THE BELIEVER IN CHRIST BEING FULLY CONVINCED ESTEEM AND OBSERVE WHATSOEVER IN TRUTH.
➖ THE BELIEVER LIVES AND DIES TO THE LORD, THE OWNER.
➖ THE LORD JESUS, THE LORD OF THE DEAD AND THE LIVING.

➖ THE LIBERTY OF THE BELIEVER IN CHRIST BEING FULLY CONVINCED ESTEEM AND OBSERVES WHATSOEVER IN TRUTH.

Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Romans 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

This is to make us aware to be aware of the liberties, our fellow brethren have, that is one can esteem a particular day above another, one can be like, this particular religious public holiday, I’ll observe it, I’ll esteem it but this other particular day, in my opinion I don’t think one should esteem it, one should observe it, so I’ll go about that day like any other day because I don’t want to observe it.

And if that person regards that day, it is to the Lord, if that person eats, that is partake of a particular thing, that person eats to the Lord, for that person give thanks to God.
And if the person does not eat, it is to the Lord and gives God thanks.

➖ THE BELIEVER LIVES AND DIES TO THE LORD, THE OWNER.

Romans 14:7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
Romans 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

The believer aware that he/she belongs that he/she has been bought at a price and therefore is not his or her own(1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 3:23).
We then need to take note that we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord and regardless of whatsoever, we are the Lord’s.

Christ Jesus is the Lord of the dead and the living. He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again(2 Corinthians 5:15).

➖ ALL SAINTS SHALL STAND BEFORE THE JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST.

Moving on to the first sub-heading now.

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
Romans 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Therefore we shall not judge any other.
We shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what that person has done, whether good or bad(2 Corinthians 5:10).

➖ THE SAINT’S RESOLUTE STANCE AGAINST JUDGING ANOTHER.

Romans 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

Therefore now that we have been educated that by the grace of God we should not judge one another, let us resolve to not put a stumbling block in the way of our fellow believer.

◻️FINAL COMMENTS◻️
Judgement starts at the house of God(1 Peter 4:17).
Therefore let us be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless and let us grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ(2 Peter 3:14-18)

OBEY THE COMMANDMENTS OF OUR LORD!

I) Love your the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength and with all your mind.

II) Love your neighbour as yourself(A command directly from our Lord Jesus Christ to you).



Let your light so shine before men, that when they see your good works, they will glorify your Father in Heaven.



Our Lord Jesus is coming, His coming is as a thief in the night, as we also await the trumpet sound.



1 Thessalonians 4:16 - 18

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.



EXHORTATION(S):

Rejoice always

Pray without ceasing.

Give thanks to God through Christ Jesus always for it is His will for you,

Hold fast what is good.

Do not quench the Spirit.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.



Be steadfast in the faith, love your neighbour, be immovable and abounding in the work of the Lord, for your labour is not in vain(1 Cor 15:58).

Put on your breastplate of faith and love and your helmet of the hope of Salvatjon. God bless you. Amen.
