The third biggest rice mill in the world nears completion in Lagos. The Imota Mill will also become the largest in sub Saharan Africa with 2.5 million bags of 50kg rice annually. About 800 Lagos farmers have been engaged to support the rice paddy supply from Kebbi.

Its not a matter of being the largest in the world or anything; Can it cause the price of rice to reduce? Will there be adequate stable power supply? Can effective hands manage it?

Whether it is the largest, second largest or third largest in the world, the consequential importance is that it serves as a means of employment for the teeming youths of Imota, Agbowa and Ikorodu.

2.5 million bags per year should sufficiently meet the local demand of Lagos and the entire Southwest.

Enough of rice importation. cool
