Yeah! Blaming others for your woes as usual...yet Ndigbos have staggering levels of wealth in other regions but they have very little investments in their own region.

Wole Soyinka has a Nobel prize in literature but has been of immense support to the yoruba people but Philip Emegwali is of the Igbo extraction and is the only African Nobel prize winner in Super-computing, an area of immense relevance to industrialisation but what has been his effect on the development of the Ndigbos? Nothing that I know of.

Ndigbos are the cause of their underdevelopment. Look at the yorubas that have developed Amotekun to defend their interests but the Ndigbo governors have done nothing till date (until Nnamdi Kanu intervenes).

Ndigbos are responsible for their failures...the East has immense human and natural resources but zero coordination, lack of group interests and a maniacal craze for individualistic materialism.

no we have as much investment in our region as we have in other regions, a region completely destroyed by a civil war, no single structure was left untouched during the civil war, after the civil war the Nigerian government promised to rebuild the region nothing happened. we lost everything, we went back into Nigeria empty handed to acquire this staggering level of wealth you talk about, Nigerian government did everything to suppress our region from developing the way it should at its own pace, fg purposely refused to develop the Eastern sea port that's just at our backyard making it difficult for us to import directly to our region, importing through Lagos Seaport and transporting our goods from Lagos to the east by road is more expensive than importing from China to Lagos, plus the outrageous clearance charges, and extortions harassment by police and soldiers on the road
while the West and North experience enough federal presence the East is ignored, compare the federal roads in the North and west to the ones in the East, compare the federal international airport in Enugu to the one in Lagos and Abuja, a rail connecting west to North, Lagos to Ibadan, Abuja to Kaduna, but none in the East purposely ignored by FG

the igbos are capitalist not socialist, we will do better in a country that's more into capitalism than socialism,

why is it that Nigerian government always ban import of products produced by dangote and other western companies but reduces costume charges on things produced by the igbos?
you talk about the igbo governors not setting up a security outfit like the Yorubas one thing you should know is this there are certain things the Yorubas may do in this country and it will be taken lightly the igbos may do the same and face grave consequences, that's how it has always being, the 1966 coup was not an igbo coup a Yoruba was among them, no single Yoruba man was attacked in revenge to that coup but 80 thousand igbos were killed all over Nigeria including Yoruba land

The nonsensical Nobel Prize to Wole Soyinka was another colonial fraud to slight Chinua Achebe who blasted Joseph Conrad in 1977. Besides, Wole Soyinka is not novelist one wonders what prompted the Europeans to dash Nobel Prize on literature. Does anybody know Wole Soyinka as a writer outside Yoruba land?

Why does Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB resent Yoruba so much to the point of Wanting to burn down Lagos and ordering the killing of Sanwo Olu and Tinubu on live Radio?

Ndigbo are not lacking any development that can be provided by individuals. The only thing that is lacking is federal government presence.
If not for the fine on touching federal roads an individual would have done the Onitsha-Enugu expressway.
Don't you know that the essence of business is providing what a society lacks to get profit. Anything lacking in East are being provided by individuals including construction of state government roads eg in Ịchị, Ozubulu and Uli of Anambra state.

You speak of the fine imposed for touching federal roads but Wike, Fashola etc were able to renovate federal roads and seek to get their funds back from the FG. Why can't the Ndigbo elite pressure their governors to do the same? Why can't the Ndigbo elite pressure their governors into pursuing educational advancement, aggressive industrialisation and social cohesion among the Igbos? If all the Igbo billionaires in Nigeria agree and form their own cabal they can clandestinely take down the operation of the Northern oligarchs in the East. Instead of bickering and complaining they can be the secret hand moving Nnamdi Kanu's decisions and building a stronger East in preparation for a secession.

But after observing the East for years and seeing how similar they are to the Yorubas and Hausas, I can confidently say that the East suffers from the same disease as all other regions. Its powerful people are not interested in the liberation of its people. This is the case in every region.

The people that gave him the Nobel prize Know him. He was given a Nobel prize, A world wide recognized prize for excellence, but No body knows him out side Yoruba Land, how lowly you think sometimes amazes me. And may i remind you that it is called the, "None prize for Literature", Not "Nobel prize for Novels".

You can say whatever you want about Wole Soyinka but it does not deny the fact that Wole Soyinka has used his, in my opinion, less developmentally valuable, Nobel prize in literature, to advance the interests of the Yorubas. You can easily observe this in his works and activism. However there is a Philip Emegwali, a Nobel Prize winner in Super computing, a very powerful subject area necessary for industrial growth and social development. So now we ask, how has Philip contributed to the development of the computing industry in the East? Zero contribution. That guy is a mathematician, a computer scientist and one of the persons with the highest IQ on the planet. Yet his impact on the Ndigbos is zero. This shows why the Ndigbos are still slaves to the FG today, like every other region of the country. Just imagine the impact that could have been recorded if Philip Emegwali built a centre of excellence for computational sciences? That centre will be visited by powerful scientists all over the world. Just imagine that Philip creates a start-up for building super computers in the East using local/foreign
resources, like Innoson. Just imagine the impact that would be generated to the East.

As far as I am concerned if the East does not work on having more people like Innoson building value and wealth in the East...the East will always scrape the bottom of development like every other region!

The Ndigbos are a resourceful people. The average Ndigbo by default is a professional business person but it hurts me to see a people who have enough resources in their land to make them the envy of the world but they put themselves at the mercy of the FG. You speak of breaking out of Nigeria like it is that one silver bullet that would erase all your woes but that is very far from the truth.

The Ndigbos currently lack cohesion and her elite are not united in the common cause of advancing the collective interests of the Igbo nation.

One example is clearly evident. Northern governors created civilian JTF, Hisbah and other para military outfits to secure their interests. Yoruba governors swung into action and created Amotekun. Till tomorrow Ndigbo governors are doing nothing about securing their land. It had to take the intervention of Nnamdi Kanu, a fugitive of the FG, to create a paramilitary organisation to safeguard the interests of the Ndigbos, why? Why are your governors so slow? Yet in a couple of months time you all will troop to the polls again to vote in another set of Ndigbo governors who are spineless, ambitionless and useless to the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra. Why do you guys do that to yourselves, why?

Zik became the prime minister through the help of the North, he Joined hands with the North because he thought that North were Gullible and he could play them, not knowing they were the master Politicians, who.later sidelined him after. Awolowo was the Leader of the of the western region, and he wanted the best for his western people. As at 1900, the whole of the present Benue State, Kogi East Senatorial District and some southern parts of Taraba State called Munchi District back then; were all in the Southern Protectorate. Whoever doubts this should consult MacMillan Atlas for secondary schools in Nigeria. With that situation the South had a higher population than the North hence always had an upper hand in any democratic bargain.
But as at the early fifties when the regions were being created, common sense dictated clearly that these areas should fall in the future Eastern Region. But against common sense, the colonial masters decided to gerrymander them into the Northern Region. While they did that, Azikiwe who was supposed to be in Enugu fighting against it as the leader of the East, was far away in Ibadan struggling with Awolowo to rule the Western Region and also playing the spoiler role against Awolowo's attempts to have Kwara and present Kogi Yorubas carved into the Western Region from the North which was already too large by landmass.
Anascopeterson: While he abandoned his burning house and was far away in Ibadan struggling against Awolowo for his own (Awolowo's) region, Igbos saw absolutely nothing wrong with that. Rather they applauded him as a nationalist. A nationalist whose house was burning yet busy chasing rats in a far away land. . Yorubas love zik? you guys are also known for telling false tales, even presently, A large population of the Igbos don't like zik, that is why one of his statues was destroyed in the was during the end sars protest. Awolowo was far better than zik in all aspect, because he did what a true son of the soil would do, wish the best for his people, and not become power hungry with the urge to rule every body like pathetic zik.
While Awo and balewa tried making Provision in our constitution for future secession, it was this same zik that was demonizing them and calling them enemy of the state, while you Igbos were cheering him on, Now tides has changed, you can't keep the rest of us under your feet like to dreamt to again, you now want leave. in achebe's words
"The origin of the national resentment of the Igbo is as old as Nigeria and quite as complicated.
"But it can be summarised thus: The Igbo " being receptive to change, individualistic and highly competitive, gave the Igbo man an unquestioned advantage over his compatriots in securing credentials for advancement in Nigerian colonial society.
"Unlike the Hausa/Fulani he was unhindered by a wary religion and unlike the Yoruba unhampered by traditional hierarchies. This kind of creature, not fearing God nor man, was custom-made to grasp the opportunities, such as they were, of the white man's dispensation. And the Igbo did so with both hands.
"Although the Yoruba had a huge historical and geographical head-start the Igbo wiped out their handicap in one fantastic burst of energy in the twenty years between 1930 and 1950.
"Had the Igbo been a minor ethnic group of a few hundred thousand, their menace might have been easily and quietly contained. But they ran in their millions! Like J.P Clark's fine image of 'ants filing out of the wood' the Igbo moved out of their forest home, scattered and virtually seized the floor.
"But this kind of success can carry a deadly penalty: the danger of hubris, overweening pride and thoughtlessness, which invites envy and hatred;"
Prof Chinua Achebe
Igbo amaka.

1) the coup was not an igbo coup and the igbos didn't meet and send those officers to carry out a coup for the igbos,
2) nzeogwu who led that coup was an igbo man just by name, he was born in Kaduna spoke Hausa as his first language spoke no igbo, dressed and carried himself around like a northerner which his friends gave him the name Kaduna same can be said of the others
and even though he died fighting in Biafra after the war Gowon took his corpse and gave him a befitting burial in Kaduna cause he was a Kaduna man
3) for the northerner he was, it never crossed his mind or any of his coup plotters that it will be viewed as an igbo coup, else he could had included a lot of Yorubas and northerners in it, cause he had officer's under his command and he was well known as a no nonsense officer, who never smoked drink alcohol or had anything to do with women sexually and hated corruption , and the reason for the coup was far from an igbo coup even the Yoruba man amongst them confirmed this

4) ironsi just like zik believed in the unity of this country they were never tribal bigots like awolowo and the most northerners , zik saw himself as northerner Yoruba and igbo and he could speak this two languages more than he did igbo, same reason he won a free and fair election in South West voted by the Yoruba against their own son awolowo who was a bigot

5) I will still say the igbo own properties all over Nigeria including South West it has always being that way even before Nigeria gained independent, 90% of this igbos are born in Lagos and themselves as lagosians, so they are not wrong if the claim to own those parts of Lagos they Acquire with their wealth
