There are kits to know the actual day of ovulation and PT strip to test for preg 2 weeks after. This I have done a couple of times with my wife while trying to conceive...test was positive on these occasions just after 2 weeks

Perhaps, you misunderstood me, I think we are saying the same thing. I am only saying that some PT kits will show +ve test even before 2weeks post ovulation. Bear in mind that the same 2weeks post ovulation will serve as next Menstrual Period start date for someone with a 28-day cycle.
