I see no reason why we cant follow simple instructions.

The reason is Nigerians don't follow instructions, they follow people.

It is not surprising that a lot of passengers will not take the Covid-19 test:

- The test is not free.

- The procedure for carrying out the test is invasive and uncomfortable. A lot of people will do what they can to avoid the swab stick, which is inserted deep into nostrils.

- The PCR test is not reliable. It detects genetic material which is said to be related to the virus; it does not detect the virus itself. There have been a lot of false positives.

- The general public does not consider Covid-19 to be as dangerous as the government would have us believe. The survival rate is high (over 99%). Drugs and natural remedies are available.

- The federal government does not bother to test persons who come into the country through the land borders, especially from Niger Republic and Chad.

If the UK, US, Canada and likes require you to take a covid test before getting their visas or entering their countries, we will not hesitate to obey without these excuses.

Testing if you have symptoms is free in many parts of the world including Nigeria. Many tests for purposes other than developing symptoms are commercial in nature and have to be paid for. Many inbound passengers from the UK paid upwards of £120 to get tested in the UK before boarding their flights to Nigeria. I believe it is same for many other countries. What is the big deal with naija then?

They'll collect 50k plus for a test that they won't conduct. Most countries already make you take tests before boarding. Money that I can invest with FCMB for better tomorrow.

But that is the standard procedure everywhere, the same invasive and uncomfortable 2min procedure they went through before getting on the flight to Nigeria....or is it that the little poke to the back of the nostril is more painful in Nigeria?

It's the 65k guy.

What happens to incoming passengers with foreign passports? If the rule is incoming passengers must be tested before being allowed into the country then what if one refuses?... I thought the consequence was being sent to an isolation center for 14 or whatever days quarantine... how willnseizure of passport help stop the spread?

Foreign passport holders have to go through the same procedure as Nigerian passport holders - do covid test b4 travelling to naija and do a follow up test 7 days after landing in naija. If they do not want to be tested, then they stay away and don't travel to Nigeria.

Such tests are nkt being charged in sane countries of the world - Nigeria should act normal for once.
