A teacher allowing students to sit on his laps is not only inappropriate but has potential to land you in jail. They are kids and not your children or friends.You need to learn some boundaries. 1. Let any student with an issue see you in the staff room where you have other teachers around. True though...I observed when I was getting too familiar with them things started going south.So I switched ,I flog if there is a good reason to flog and made them see me as their teacher and not their friend.
