A tiny car, from Chinese automaker Wuling, has overtaken Tesla as the top-selling electric vehicle in China, and it costs just $5,000. The car was manufactured as a joint venture between local carmakers, Wuling, and General Motors, targeting young consumers and less affluent drivers. According to a user, it is China’s cheapest and most popular electric car and it is highly affordable. “It is highly affordable and the whole county is being encouraged to go electric. It is affordable so I decided to buy it,” a user says. The electric car is a city car with a top speed of 100km/hr. and has a range of 120-170km.
