Which resources? Who will be monitoring what comes in and out?

It's a security risk.

I knew the place place, there are tens o settlers around that area without easy access to the city, they have to treck more than 10-20miles before they can board a bike. and they are farmers not loggers and they have been there even before the existence of the republic call Nigeria.

Why destroy it...

why not make better use of it and probably arrest the people involved?

Why are we good at wasting resources like this?

For those people quoting me....

We blacks barely use our senses....

A visionary leader will make something reasonable from it....

Someone said the foundation of the bridge might not be solid...Yes, but rather than destroying it, renovate it to a better standard and reduce the cost....

Make the place a tourism centre or something... Then have someone publish a touching story about the reserve...
why arrest the people who tried to construct a fly over where flyover is direly needed?
The government is the number one enemy of the people.
In saner climes, the person who came up with the idea to make this flyover should be a national hero but now he is a criminal.
A nation that darken diamonds and polish pebbles.

Nigeria is a zoo!

He will destroy it and budget 800billion to build an authorized one. 20yrs later the authorized bridge, the money and the contractor are nowhere to be seen.

Pipe down on the inferiority complex. If you built a structure without proper permits, planning and quality assurance in the US, it'd get pulled down even if you spent a billion

If it is a heritage site then relocate all the indigenous inhabitants and lock down the place to all but tourists.

You cannot have folks living there and deny them basic infrastructure or the right to live or profit off the/their land.

It is that contradiction that is causing this problem.

Like I said, may ignorance not derail your life. better say Amen!!!

That is insensitivity on the part of the government, why will you destroy developmental project because it wasn't initiated by you.

That wasn’t a developmental project. Did you read the story?

The substandard bridge is being constructed without permission by unscrupulous people who occupied the forest and are exploiting the natural reserves. There are loggers amongst them who fell timbers, deforest the reserve and these apart from depriving the state of revenue also threaten endangered species like elephants in the forest.

modifying and back lashing, sir can't you read, why won't the bridge be pulled down, weed or noise doesn't mean bad it means unwanted, that bridge is not wanted.
A bridge illegally constructed according to the post by criminal characters to help them facilitate smuggling and illegal logging should be left standing because the whole of Nigeria doesn't have sense only but you

We just put a lot of senseless people in positions of power,...... Destroying a link between two communities cannot be the solution prevention of crime. They have started, finish it and make it useful for both communities and others. And keep tighter security around the area.

Dummy (Olodo), why build an unauthorized bridge in a forest reservation.

Countries across the world are preserving their rainforest (A valuable asset) while stupid Nigerians are selling it off to Chinese. Do you want the South West to become another Niger Republic or Northern Nigeria?

They should lock you up for being stupid.

There is nothing to renovate there. Pull it down completely and build something solid if there is a need for it.
