Mu'azu Alhaji Misiya, a graduate of Mathematics and an indigene of Bama, Borno state became a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (C-JTF) which involved young volunteers collaborating with the military to prosecute the anti-terrorism campaign in Borno state.

He was part of the joint effort which liberated many towns and villages which included Gwoza, Bama, Banki, Fulka, Yamtake and many others. He partook in many operations led by the late Colonel Abu Ali in which he proved his commitment, valor, fighting spirit and gallantry.

Mu'azu Misiya's patriotism and gallantry stood out because he elected to, not just abandoned his white collar job, but decided to take up arms, as a civilian volunteer, to fight so that others could sleep in peace. He did this since 2006 at a time many people were leaving jobs in order to get out of town to save their skins.

Here is hoping that both the federal and state governments would consider avenues to highlight this young man's contributions by honoring him in order to encourage others to see the wisdom in sacrificing ones comfort to build a nation at peace with itself.

This is one in a million case.

This is heroic. He deserves national award.

His patriotism is the true definition of service to fatherland and not those thieves, marauders and destroyers in national assembly, presidency NNPC, CBN and juicy offices who are destructive to our existence.

I don't even know what I am supposed to write here because terrorism has been politicized and commercialized.

Today, we have seen the so-called civilian JTF being recruited into the Nigeria's military without passing through the due process. Similarly, Boko Haram terrorists are being pardoned and given a VIP treatment.

The only thing I will tell northerners reading this comment is to put their house in order before 2023. If power returns to the south in 2023, those NONSENSE will not be tolerated anymore.

Fighting against what they created. This is commendable, they should fight what they created.

Yusuf Buhari should equally do same.
He should stop Abuja power bike ridding and move to Kastina to fight bandits

I only pity the innocent man that has been exposed to boko haram by this media report.
Boko haram might do the needful when next they attack

Which law or constitution backed this vigilantee group?

Imagine vigilantes using AK47, which is still illegal to use in Nigeria except for Police and the military.

The north keeps riding us in this country. One country, two different laws

Nothing heroic here.

He believes he can still become the president tomorrow, from being a commander of vigilante to the president.

Government will not see this guy now and reward accordingly but if it were to be BBNAIJA now, you will hear that Borno State Government has make him SSA with mouth watering millions as gifts.

Our government tire me.

You can see how civilians are carrying assault rifles in the North.
But to own a pump action down South for protection is an issue.
The cycle of violence might never end at this rare

This is one thing I like of the northerners, they stay and fight for the defence of their homeland. If it’s a coward from the south, he will start looking for visa to run to Canada or Europe.

CJTF is a vigilante group in northeast created in 2013 to help soldiers fight Boko Haram; they help them with mostly information & identifying terrorists in the insurgency ravaged areas because they've better knowledge of the places and the insurgents. They played a great role in pointing out the insurgents living amidst the innocent people, hiding and unleashing terror to the security. In fact, they're responsible for chasing them to the forest. The CJTF are distributed into different army battalions, fighting and dying everyday together with Nigerian army not fighting as an independent vigilante group. So in such a difficult situation how do you expect a member of CJTF to fight with a gun less powerful as AK-47?

You've justified the need for that calibre of weaponry. Fine
How do you now explain the mopping up of less dangerous arms in the South.
When we know that the criminal herdsmen that attack communities come with same rifles the boko haram guys use
