I personally don't see any rationale behind closing down Universities again all in the name of the covid-19 pandemic.

There was covid-19 pandemic, elections held in Edo and Ondo, but Universities ought to be closed.

There is covid-19 pandemic but people go to markets, religious centers and other public places but not University. Private Universities has also been opened all this time.

Even primary and secondary Schools have been opened in some states but why not University? The government and ASUU have succeeded in incurring additional charges for the students like house rent and more. A year has been wasted already, Nigerian students can't afford more.

Many Islamic countries under the leadership of progressive minds are busy doing whatever they can to stop child marriages, polygamy and to guarantee women rights. But in northern Nigeria, a vigorous process of reversing any progress made on these fronts have been on since the so-called civilian rule. Even Saudi Arabia has moved on, allowing women to ride cars and building cities where men can mix with women. But in northern nigeria, laws are being passed to suppress women by some charlantans in government. Kano state passed a law that makes it hard for a man and a woman to ride in the same taxi! Child rights are totally abrogated and as such almajiris roam free everywhere. The only reason the north gets away with all these is because other sections of the country are working to subsidize the economic consequences of their achaic beliefs. Otherwise, if you remove half of your population (womenfolk) from active competitive engagement in a modern economy, how can you progress enough to develop with just a section of the population?
