There are 9 major reasons why marriages don't last in this contemporary time, they are;

1. Excess Fornication: In this 21st century almost everyone knows everything about sex and are sexually active, including the minors. Children have sex nowadays to say nothing of adults, it's easier now to get a sex mate if that's your priority, with no strings attached at all. In a century where girls give their pride as appreciation for a birthday party thrown for them, birthday gifts they , Valentine dates etc. What do you expect?

But during our parents and forefather's time it ain't like that, those days people rather marry early and stick with their wives unless she cheats or is barren in extreme cases.

2. Too Much Sex Partners: This is obviously rampant nowadays. This definitely makes the person that has many sexual partners to compare their spouses with their previous numerous sex partners and miss what they're used to enjoying with their previous sex partners.

This happens on rare occasions during our parents and forefather's time. If a lady has a very few body count ('cause it's rare to get virgins nowadays), then she'll hardly have something to miss in her marital sex life. Think about this...

3. Reckless Pasts: Many people in their teenage years made a lot of mistakes that'll still rise a storm in their future, even if they desist from such lifestyle. Examples of such cases are; a damaged womb, children out of wedlock, sicknesses etc. This hardly happens during our parents and forefather's time. Apparently this happens rampantly nowadays because of the above stated reasons.

4. Too Many Secrets: Many people are not proud of their past, hence tend to hide too many skeletons in their cardboard. But the funny thing is, that secrets can't be hidden forever to say nothing of when they're plenty. One day something or someone will let the Cat out of the bag for example; the DNA trend we all know about.

5. Giving Social Media Too Much Attention: This has split many marriages. Social media is like a game, don't ever like it get into your head and destroy things for you. Imagine a wife or a husband using social media at a moment he/she claims to be sharing with his/her spouse, that can be so annoying. But such don't happen during our parents and forefather's time, you dare not.

6. Lies: In case you don't know, lies scatter marriages, expecially when they're plenty. I don't need to explain much on this.

7. Comparing Your Marriage With Other People's: This is bad, it has scattered many marriages.

8. Getting Married Just To Avoid Being Single: One day you'll be tired of pretending, and want to be out of the union.

9. Not Understanding Marriage Before Getting Married: Marriage is all about sacrifices and if you don't make the sacrifices, someone will and if the person gets tired, boom! It ends.

All these reasons will show you why marriages don't last nowadays, but if you do things right, your's will last too.

Well you are right, and i notice another thing that makes most marriages of nowadays crash is......... LACK OF TRUST,when parterns that don't trust each other, it will be very difficult for their marriage to work.
