Hello, I need unbiased and non-shallow minded opinions urgently. Is using VPN in Nigeria a crime. I'm about to get one and I'm not using it for any form of illegal activity..
My reasons for trying to get one:
..For ad block: some ads are so annoying that before you know it, you will start seeing some downloaded softwares on your laptop hence making the laptop to work slower.
....To prevent my laptop from being hacked(I experienced a laptop getting hacked from the webcam).
..Nigeria's google is google Nigeria(google.ng): I'm into web design and I try to get updated on the latest designs using google search engine. Most times, the results are usually from within Nigeria and around, reason why I want to change my IP address to another location.
I also want to register my Fiverr account as Non-African Most importantly, I want to take surveys to earn money but almost all isn't targeted at Nigerians
There are lot of other legal reasons(tech guys will understand) ...
I need to confirm this because I saw it in an old news where EFCC arrested some guys because they had VPN on their laptops (the stated it as the reason).

This is like asking "Is using condoms a crime?"

Using vpn in some countries like north Korea(You don't even have access to foreign OS), China and Russia is illegal. But it's only illegal when you use it to access illegal/restricted websites.

install OPERA browser, it is free, it has a built-in VPN. just select where you want to be.

While using Google map, I mistakenly turn on my location while VPN is on , since then my VPN stops been effective, browser is showing my physical location while VPN still connect fine , please what can I do
