I trust the VP to drive Nigeria economy to an enviable height if given the full opportunity, judging by his performance in his short time as acting president during his boss' absence. He can deliver greatly but like I earlier stated if given the full opportunity

But who is he giving all this advise to implement?

When PIB is signed into law, Job creation for Nigerians and strengthening of Nigerian Local Content enforcement, Acceleration of Nigerian Skill development in the sector, More transparency& accountability in the sector, competitive bidding process for Oil and Gas Businesses.

We shouldn't be here but we are because regrettably,
Under PDP Jonathan's watch, in crude oil alone, Nigeria earned N51trillion in 5 years, with nothing to show for the revenue except monumental stealing, impunity and no serious project except giving us 3D drawing. What are you even saying, almost 6 years and we have had improved infrastructural development to start with.

Are u saying that since 2015, buhari hasn't created a single job as president in Nigeria and as minister of petroleum because PIB? So how has buhari improved d living standard of nigerians since 2015?

we need to agree on terms that will give us a more competitive environment. We should find a way of producing oil cheaper at the largest volume possible given the circumstances and future of oil itself, and of course, given our requirements and needs.

We need to mine more gold in Zamfara to contribute to national income and not money from South alone.

And all the railroads, train stations, roads, airport rehabilitations, etc, that were started during GEJ's time were paid with what? Play money? The contractors brought out billions of their own money to build Asaba airport, bah? All the concrete being poured for the Abuja rail prior to 2015 were paid for with promises?

The projects Buhari is working on are mostly based on future money (e.g. loans), that have not been earned yet. By the time inflation kicks in when these loans need to be serviced, we'd be in that horrible situation in 90s when we paid more in interest than we could spend on schools. And now, our VP is proposing we spend money on an industry that will have very few customers by the time we're done (the world is moving away from oil)

There was massive stealing during GEJ's time, I don't dispute that. From all indications, I'm not sure the stealing has reduced... I'm not sure...

Why are you replying that fool. We undertook more reforms in the GEJ administration than this confused administration that doesn't even know where Nigeria is headed to. Prices of good and services have skyrocketed to levels never witnessed before in history and they stupidly want us to agree that Buhari has 'done more with less' narrative

Yes, all the so-called N51 trillion went into Jonathan's pocket and he came to steal allocations to Lagos State, Rivers State, Ogun State and Sokoto State, shay??

Hmmmmm...N51 trillion in 5 years?....
The whole budget in the 5or so years that Jonathan ruled was less than #30 trillion. Where do you guys get all these stats from? Make una fear God oooo...Yes Jonathan has his many faults and he messed up big time but all these statistics flying around is unfair ooo

Where's the improved infrastructural development? Name one?
You live in a country of no electricity and at worst beheading of farmers, killing business men and women that drive the economy of this country and you are making noise.
Which investors will take a risk of opening businesses in Nigeria with low ratings of government policies and insecurity.

Too much talk

When major oil buyers like US, EU and China are setting targets to phase our fossils fuels completely, Nigeria is trying to boost output. Who will buy?
Re: Osinbajo: We Need To Produce Largest Oil Volumes Possible At Cheaper Costs by Latvin: 5:06am On Jan 14, 2021
Fossil fuels are being phased out and oil will die faster than gas. However, both oil and gas will still be relevant in the world for at least 30 years.

In Nigeria we have both oil and gas in abundance. They are both way cheaper to produce and are in large supply than renewable sources of energy. So if you were a Nigerian leader, you would prioritise oil and gas over renewables in the short term, say 20 years. Use those two to massively industrialise the economy and then start planning to shift away from them very gradually.

However the PIB should be friendly enough to the investors who now have alternative investment opportunities to fossil fuels and are even compelled by the global world to go green. My advice to the govt is to find a middle ground so that investors particularly the foreign ones with huge capital investment muscle can still bring in their money to invest. Otherwise, we will be seating on tons of oil and gas reserves which will progressively become useless, like coal.

The ignorance of this so called academic is amazing. When forward thinking are edging towards renewable energy resources, the pseudo-economist is advocating mass production of oil sold at very low price. Nigeria would wake up some day only to realise that its oil are no longer needed to power cars, etc.

[Qquote author=Omezif post=98026040]This apc is quite incompetence to rule nigeria, We are yet to have better government.[/quote]

Even oil producing states in Nigeria are diversifying away from oil and you are here talking about oil.

All they want is empty the SS of their oil reserves but what they don't know is that even the SS knows that oil is gone.
