All of you saying Senate will not convict Trump is oblivious of what transpired on January 6th. Lawmakers, both Democrats and Republicans were inches away from losing their lives. A lot of them are taking this thing personally. Even Mitch Mcconnel is in support of impeachment and will vote to convict trump when it gets to Senate.
Lastly, Trump has proven to be a liability to the Republican party. He cost them the Presidency and the Senate. Funny enough, Republicans picked more seats in Congress and flipped two governorship seats. It means Americans still tolerate the Republican party but despise Trump. There is no advantage for the Republican party if Trump is still on the scene.

If republican continue to pursue white supremacy rhetoric, they are in for a tough time in the future. Whites are just 60% of American population....they now had to add Hispanics to boost their numbers to 73% n we know Latinos don't like whites.

Already, states with strong immigrants population are becoming democrats strong hold.
Only the rust belts n it's bitter poor whites population will be left for republicans.

The House impeachment today, is just officially accusing Trump of the charges layout in the Article of Impeachment.

Trump need to be tried in the Senate on those charges, where 67 votes are needed to convict him, though not very likely, no US President has ever been convicted in the Senate after House Impeachment.

The Senate can further vote to strip Trump off some retirement benefits, put restrictions on him, etc....these also are very unlikely but requires just simple majority vote.

They can also vote to refer him to DOJ for prosecution, which is not likely.
