For the second time, the US President, Donald Trump, has been put in his place by the House of Reps impeachment. By "inciting" the Capitol Hill invasion and by his refusal to immediately condemn the invaders, during the hours long siege; President Trump appeared guilty of inaction and betrayal of the nation.

The US House of Reps have demonstrated again that the USA comes first, not the president. The nation is supreme and all loyalty must lie with the nation and its constitution.

Compare with Nigeria's House of Reps. During the height of the Fulani herdsmen madness, when communities were being attacked at night and people slaughtered. The president kept mum. The northern dominated security chiefs kept mum. And the nation was helpless.

The president who swore an oath to protect lives and property watched in bias as Nigerian people were killed by imported Fulani mercenaries.... That was the highest betrayal ever by a sitting Nigerian president. No condemnation or orders were issued by Buhari to arrest the situation. He said nothing and his security chiefs defended the attackers by blaming communities for closing grazing routes. Imagine, .... one wonders whether closing grazing routes would be repaid by slaughter. And who gave Fulani foreigners another man's land as grazing routes.

The Nation burned as the President betrayed his oath and office..... and what did the House of Reps do... nothing. Trust USA, Buhari would be out of office in few weeks.

But here in Nigeria, we have representatives who are ethnic jingoists and religious irredentists. Rather than being objective in the Nation's interest, northern reps will play ethnicity with serious national issues. That has been the bane of Nigeria's progress and unfortunately, the northerners more than others are guilty of this.

I am all for one Nigeria in peace and unity ... but the Nation would fail should reps continue leaning on ethnic walls. President Buhari ought to have been impeached at that time, for his betrayal of the nation... but he slept comfortably knowing that his stupid northern reps would play ethnic politics...

This dirty ethnic and religious politics is the bane of northern Nigeria and is the reason they would never ever progress. Their leaders would rather bow to ethnic/religious sentiments than uphold civility, decency and objectivity. Not even in Saudi Arabia do we have such idiocy.

If Republicans can dump their man and join the Democrats to impeach Trump, then the USA deserves the progress and advancement that she has attained.

This should serve as a message to the very stupid northern reps and senators. That Nigeria's interest as a nation supersedes any region's interest and that a northern president might not be the messiah to transform the north. Until they outgrow such sentiments, their region is guaranteed perpetual poverty, illitracy and backwardness.

Northern leaders have a choice- to continue with ethno-islamic sentiments and reap perpetual backwardness OR embrace objectivity and reap progress with other regions and the nation.

The choice is theirs.
