Early child education is an encouraged step towards a child’s mental and psychological development. It is a time of remarkable growth with brain development at its peak. During this stage, children are highly influenced by the environment and the people that surround them. Early child education is more than preparation for primary school. It aims at the holistic development of a child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs in order to build a solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing. Early child education has the possibility to nurture caring, capable and responsible future citizens.
Early years in life are widely accepted as the most important period during which children experience cognitive, language, perceptual, socio-emotional and motor development which they will need for future achievements and social functioning. This informs the reason why the periods of the early years need to be handled with all special and detailed attention. The early years of a child is a remarkable period of growth and development in the lives of children. The early years of children are years of extreme vulnerability and tremendous potentials, during which adequate protection, care and stimulation are essential to provide the foundation for well-being and development. It is pertinent to note that all ECE activities and programmes are geared towards giving positive early experiences to children. This further underscores the importance of early years.

However, one of the reasons that early childhood is regarded up to the age of eight is to enable him or her acquire a smooth understanding of the entire education from the level of play group to pre-primary and from pre-primary to the level of primary. The early childhood education is in an organized form to a major extent. The teachers and the other members of the pre-school, who are involved in this education, are required to be systematic and methodical in their workings and conduct. It requires efficiency in its format and implication.
The undergraduate project is often the first major piece of independent research that a student will undertake. We are today in knowledge driven world where knowledge assets rather than physical assets and natural assets are considered more relevant in creating competitive and differential advantages. It is therefore a point where and when a student leaves a statement as a foot print on the part that he/she traversed over a period of time. The statement or the content of the project may be a building block for the future students or humanity at large. Undergraduate research is an inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to the discipline.

EARLY CHILD EDUCATION

Early childhood education (ECE; also nursery education) is a branch of education theory that relates to the teaching of children (formally and informally) from birth up to the age of eight. Early childhood education consists of activities and/or experiences that are intended to effect developmental changes in children prior to their entry into elementary school.
Early childhood education (ECE) programs include any type of educational program that serves children in the preschool years and is designed to improve later school performance. This trend allowed the majority of children to have access to some form of early childhood education.

THE NEED FOR EARLY CHILD EDUCATION

Early childhood education can produce significant gains in children's learning and development. High quality early childhood education assists many at-risk children in avoiding poor outcomes, such as dropping out of school.
Although the benefits seem to cross all economic and social lines, the most significant gains are almost always noted among children from families with the lowest income levels and the least amount of formal education.
However, whether these benefits are long lasting is disputed.

EARLY CHILD EDUCATION AND STUDENTS COMPETENCE IN UNDERGRADUATE PROJECT

At the most basic level, early childhood education (ECE) encompasses all forms of education, both formal and informal, provided to young children up to approximately 8 years of age. This education is fundamental to the development of a child and can significantly shape the later years of an individual’s life. Early childhood education is an important area within the lives of the individuals. This education begins, when the child reaches the age of two. It establishes the foundation from where the learning of the child takes place.
However, as the child grows and get into the higher institution, he/she is expected at a certain stage of his/her education to write an undergraduate project. At this stage the child is expected to be competent in writing of undergraduate projects by years of teaching and learning that is to say some level of competence is expected. This is where the benefits of early child education come into play. The child must have groomed properly for this purpose and must have gathered all the necessary knowledge and ability to write an excellent undergraduate project.

CONCLUSION

Education is a comprehensive area. It covers skills, knowledge, attitudes, habits, communication, cognitive skills, intellectual abilities, wisdom, astuteness, righteousness and honesty. These factors are essential for the development of the mind-set of the students and it also contributes towards their progression. The students have to be well prepared to enter the education system at the formal level. In order to seek admission in formal schools, it is vital for the students to possess adequate understanding of academic concepts, so that they can appropriately cope up with the teaching-learning methods, provided to them by the teachers and enhance their performance. Early childhood education renders an effective contribution in the facilitation of learning and education.
