Na who want still go polytechnic with all the bsc/hand wahala. Govt is just wasting money that they're suppose to channel to something productive.
People are not interested in polytechnic education again period.

My brother, it was proposed at Adikpo in the first letter. Approval then comes at Wannune. He couldn't do anything for his kinsmen as Governor for 8yr now he has diverted another persons effort to show concern for them.

Nice one.

But at a time the federal budget is getting reduced due to drop in oil sales.

How can the federal government funds all this numerous schools at a time Nigeria is moving towards a RESTRUCTURED COUNTRY and devolution of federal powers to the state/regions is becoming an option.

Mumu people all the unis and polys we already have what state are they in?

Why not upgrade them, employ more staff, increase salaries etc

The existing schools have zero respect within and outside Nigeria nothing is being done to change that instead you're adding to the problem

This argument is stale , try another one ....WE NEED MORE AND MORE TETIARY INSTITUTIONS......some countries count them in hundreds and thousands......we have less than 200 so we need more

Some of the "schools " that's make up the numbers in those countries are substandard and can be likened to "lesson"......some of us are aware that what many nigerians attend as university in some of those countries is mere "lesson" , I mean some tutorial colleges in nigeria are far better than them Yet our people flock there in the name of foreign degree....

polytechnic in 2021?

Yes, only technical education can develop a nation not your degrees in Political Science, Philosophy, Sociology, Marketing, Theology, Accounting.

A developed nation is a nation that can build its own cars, build its own computers, build its own aero planes, build its own bridges and fly overs, build its own human cells, treat its own people of illness. A nation of Accoutants, Marketers, Sociologists, Pastors, Alfas but cannot manufacture basic things of life will continue to be a useless underdeveloped nation for a long time.

It's selfishness if you ask me, that poly was supposed to be situated at Adikpo. It was Gemade that even sponsor a bill to that which if I'm not mistaking was approved by the Senate that time.

I now wonder how the federal government made a u-turn and move it to another place.

I saw two circulars somewhere
One was on this federal poly, and the other was for federal college.
I think the one Gamade fought for was the federal college...
Only have one of the circulars

So you cannot tell Baba that it is bad for Abia State to be the only State in Southern Nigeria with only one Federal Higher Institution....
No Fed College, No Fed Poly, No Fed anything!

(Just Fed Univ.,and it is even specialised, all other appeals have been rebuffed).

The State has even said they are willing to give up the State Poly to be approved as Fed....no way.

Una wehdone oooo cry cry

Of all the States in Southern Nigeria, Abia has only one Fed higher Institution and it is a specialised Univ.
No Fed Poly, No Fed College, No Fed anything.

All other 16 states in the South have at least two Fed Higher Institutions.
