Funny enough I have argued this fact and it's not in the Bible, you are free to marry as many as you want most biblical figures married more than one

Well, let me phrase it like this:
A Christian can choose to do whatever he/she likes, however it may not line up to the biblical guidelines.

The model that was set from the very beginning of the Creation account is the following:

Genesis 2: 20-24 (KJV)

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh
.

So to the poster above me, "yes" it is definitely in the Bible. The Lord oftentimes, shows through and by "example" what His plan of life is.
We, erring, finite, sinful humans come in and decide to adjust God's standard and then justify it by any means necessary.
The problem is with mankind-not God.

Three examples of Godly men who will be in the Kingdom of God (yet who made fleshly relationship non-God ordained choices) are Abraham, King David and King Solomon...which you may want to study in the Bible.
All three in some way or another transgressed God's standard of marriage by making fleshly choices.
Those choices weren't ordained by God..but He did not step in and stop these men from desiring to do what they had the "freewill" to do. Repentance was needed later...which these men apparently partook in.
The consequences, however, of those guys' choices were felt through their bloodlines...even till today.
So I think the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel ordained the best functioning of a family to be within the confines of "1" husband and his "1" wife...with children if possible.

Other religions choose to practice polygamy...which is their decision, but those who follow the biblical Christianity are limited to "1" man and "1" woman at a time.

Christians can't marry more than one wife because of what Jesus said @ Matthew 19:4, there Jesus (God's only begotten son) who will teach us how to regain the Paradise our first human parents lost, referred to God's arrangement in the beginning as the one and only standard for marriage!
So ask them would you like to live forever in PARADISE? if their response is "YES" then let them know that they have to stick to the standard God set in the beginning~ One Man (Adam) One wife (Eve)

That's why the first century Christians never married more than a woman, they've learnt from the one and only begotten son of God [b]not from imperfect humans who lived before Jesus came to show us the way to everlasting life! John 14:6

God bless you! smiley

A Christian doctrine... A teaching of Apostle Paul ministries Incorporated... A doctrine vigorously pushed by those who were scared of the population growth of the children of YAKUBI (Jacob).

All this confusion arises when you don't know who the people of the book are.

So it is also morally OK for women to marry more than one husband too? undecided
Or does "morally Okay" imply that gender discrimination is instead the norm? undecided
