It seems there is a large market for illicit drugs in Nigeria.

Most people think it is when the drug is ferried to europe or asia before they can sell it and earn foreign exchange.

A country like Nigeria that is under security threat can not afford to allow such a huge amount of drug to enter the country.

The person who got the luggage checked in at the airport of departure "settled" Ethiopian Airline staff with the arrangement that the contact person in Abuja will pick it up with the excuse that it was his/her delayed luggage and settling some Abuja airport officials to "ignore" him/her, a coded format

The person who was to pick the luggage was hanging around the arrival lounge but on sighting the unknown faces of NDLEA and Customs officers where the conveyor belt was......liver cut!

It was either to disappear and count the losses or go pick up the luggage and get arrested. Ethiopian Airline should sanction their staff who are fond of facilitating unaccompanied luggage as their side hustle.

Cuz i doubt NDLEA is willing to just blow over $15m just for props! Haba!!!

Gone are those days when cocaine was high valued. If that thing was in UK black market as at 2007, the owner would be going home with nothing less than 2 million pounds. But now the market has been bastardized by the Bulgarian and Latvian Mafia.

Currently that 21 kg should not worth more than 500k pounds. That's even if it is high quality. Current price on the street of UK is 60k+ per kg.

Anyways, that's a bad market/investment for the group involved.

Your calculation is right but the price of cocca isn't straight like that.
If it is high quality, it would make up to the calculated figure. The quality determines it and the quality is weighed by the point of production and how many route it takes before reaching the customers ( the more the routes, the lower the quality).

In this case, the package has taken more routes (those are not made in Nigeria) and that is a dusky cocca right there. So it is a low quality package.

The owner will be lucky to get close to 1 mill pounds for it only if he/she gets newbies to sell to.

What a set up but the carrier was too smart to notice the handwriting on the wall and decided to leave the drugs behind.

Millions of naira left like that, although it would soon be released to the owners.

Nigeria's name has been damaged beyond easy repair.
There are so many hypocrites who are very selective on criticisms of the conducts of Nigerians. If those who travel abroad will tell their ordeals on how Nigerians are subjected to so many embarrassing searches we will all pity our dignity destroyed by few evils but because they're sympathetic to the culprits for selfish bigotic reasons they'll not bother to denounce the evil act.
