What I want you to know is that, traditional marriage is what the Bible instructs. And before God, after traditional marriage, they have consummated their union.

He would have opted for just church wedding instead of the traditional marriage. God recognize traditional marriage and that's why some churches cannot conduct a wedding without the couple performing traditional marriage. The father in law is just being unnecessarily difficult.
