A Pro-Democracy group, Progressive Professionals’ Forum (PPF) commenced her rural sensitization drive today, Jan 23rd, 2021 as part of her efforts to complement the upcoming All Progressive Congress membership registration across the country.

The sensitization which came up at Angwai Community, FCT-Abuja saw members of the forum engaging the residents of the area on the need to be part of the political process and also emphasising the roles of community, youth, women and student leaders as a critical tool for massive mobilisation and information dissemination.

According to the convener of the forum, Mr. Lekan Paul, there is a need for the Progressives Professionals’ forum as civic duties to support the party in attaining its utmost efficiency.

Lekan noted that democracy is built on the principle of participation where all citizens are expected to play active roles.

“The forum is embarking on creating an aggressive community sensitization and awareness strategies across the FCT to ensure rural communities actively participates in the upcoming membership registration of the party which commences on the 25th January, 2021.”

“Efforts are ongoing for members in the 36 states of the federation to kickstart awareness on monday, we are confident for a fruitful outing”.

The Secretary of the Forum, Theresa Tekenah in her words revealed that the APC membership registration process is a clarion call for the forum to establish her presence within the progressives caucus and most importantly; to streamline accurate information to the 774 wards to ensure a successful outing for the party.

Theresa continued; “The Progressive Professionals’ Forum goal is to bridge the lacuna in information dissemination and advance the support base of the APC Led Government across all states of the federation. The forum’s establishment will further advance the reputation and image of our great party in future endeavours and electioneering activities across the country.”

While responding, a youth leader in the community, Dauda Isa appreciates the forum for her sensitisation efforts and promised to continue house-to-house awareness for residents to register; another resident Mrs Adenike Mariam said she would inform her friends at the market to be be part of the process.

A member of the forum, Akanji Micheal urged members to be resilient and consistent towards the forum mission and the interest of the party, stating that the acceptance of the progresssive party across the federation will be greatly improved after the registration process.
